JOHNNY’S KITCHEN
Read moreTen small tables placed tightly one against another, a bottom of terrace overlooking the Saône, a TV set connected on a sport event or a clip channel. Johnny is not very impressive, but it is one of the friendliest places in the district of Saint-Georges. You can sit here for hours in front of an empty glass, without any worry. You can come to crunch Jacket potatoes cosmopolitan at any time and without fuss, with Chile, Savoy, Bolognese or vegetarian. The beer flows abundantly in this Irish cave where green atmosphere prevails. With a bit of luck, you'll see a music group repeating in the free rehearsal room located in the basement, at the sound mixer, amplifier and battery. An advisable "kitchen".
PALM
Read moreAn unexpected destination, to say the least. In this historic district with its exposed stonework, a lush jungle setting in the heart of the city for eating, drinking and listening. Every evening, and on weekends at lunchtime, with a daily special, dishes and fun to share. There's even a brunch club that fills up fast (reservations required). But in this atypical setting, our favorite feature is the wine list created in collaboration with Antic Wine. Superb bottles at all price points and a selection that opens up the terroirs of a dozen countries. Successful cocktails too. A passionate place to share great things to eat and drink.
LA CAVE DES VOYAGEURS
Read moreSaint-Paul isn't the only place to take the train. You can also enjoy a good glass of wine and travel through the terroirs of France and the world. La Cave des Voyageurs opened its doors opposite Vieux Lyon station over 25 years ago. This makes it Lyon's oldest wine bar. It's a Lyonnais address at heart, where you need to take your time to enjoy your meal. Superb selection. Emotionally-charged bottles and prices to match. To keep your spirits up and extend the evening, the charcuterie and cheese platters do the trick. Follow the tasting program to make sure you don't miss out on any of the Cave's destinations.
L’APOSTROPHE
Read moreIf you think that a good bar, is a place where to redo the world among friends, without being obliged to ruin in consumption, then L'Apostrophe will ring you somewhere. Let us say it right now: the plant is more than approximate. But the atmosphere is quiet. We hear about it. Customers are a mix of used and strategy games. Lyon's go club has been elected here and the go stones go out of the cupboards on Thursday evening, from 20 h 30 until marre and Saturday from 16 pm. By the price of the alléché pressure, the students can get there easily on the weekend. Pressure, quite rightly, can rise to many. The boss is rather inclined to play, without being asked, the game of long evenings portninwak.

Exhibits of paintings and pictures are frequent and allow Antifreeze to be constantly moved. Hot or cold cocktails will spoil you until the beginning of the night, and jazz or speeddating evenings will surprise you. One thing is sure, you leave rather hot than frozen.
LE FLORIAN
Read moreIt's like stepping back in time (even though you haven't started drinking yet...). Right in the heart of the historic district of Vieux Lyon, with a terrace under the lime tree when the weather's fine, this cocktail bar transports us to the heart of the Italian Renaissance, while at the same time pumping modern-day sound into our ears. You'll feel right at home at Le Florian, thanks to the convivial yet hushed, relaxed yet elegant ambience of the tastefully arranged glasses. All the classics, but above all in-house creations by creative mixologists who are always ready to listen. Plates to accompany cocktails. Smart spot.
SMOCKING DOG
Read moreThe Smocking Dog brings Lyon closer to England. A real pub like those you find on the other side of the Channel, a true ode to Franco-British friendship, even when there's a soccer or rugby match on, or during the 6 Nations Tournament! The typical decor, with a reading corner at the entrance, a large, busy bar and a quieter room at the back, adds to the atmosphere. Lyon's English-speaking clientele make no mistake. The waitresses have had their accents for over 25 years... A great place to brush up on your English: with the help of beer, it's much easier. Crazy atmosphere on match nights, or when you can win shooters at the Tuesday night quizzes, and live music.
