Summer 2019. Ainay district, Lyon
We are in the heart of the historical cradle of Lyon's aristocracyaristocracy, in Lyon's 2nd arrondissement. Standing opposite the majesticthe majestic Romanesque basilica of Saint-Martin d'Ainay, a building withhistory is about to embark on a new life
Designed in the style of the Florentine palaces of the neo-renaissance,the building was born in the 19th century as a presbytery,before being transformed a century later into a public school,as a consequence of the law on the separation of Church and State.

2017.
The Hospices Civils de Lyon, owners of the premises, then decided to sell them at auction, marking the beginning ofa new era.Arthur Laeuffer became the new master ofthese walls, which he transformed into the Hôtelde l'Abbaye, an intimate and refined boutique hotel with delicate features, housing 21 rooms rated 4 stars.
Designed as a family home where life is good, it also houses a lounge, a café and a restaurant open to both hotel residents and the local population.

Joli petit hôtel avec peu de chambre, une équipe accueillante, a l écoute des clients et prend le temps de nous renseigner. Quartier calme, bien situé.chambre agréable et u. Très bon restaurant!

Very helpful and friendly staff who made me comfortable until room was ready when I checked in early. Location was convenient to metro and restaurants and room was extremely comfortable, enjoyed the L’Occitane bath products!

Ótimo atendimento de todo o staff, quarto confortáveis e limpos, ótima localização, dá pra fazer muita coisa a pé. O café da manhã é gostoso mas bem simples, não sei se vale o preço.

Location is very good, but BE AWARE of the bell near the building keep ringing every 15mins during day time so it can be a bit annoying if you want to go back for a rest.
Most of the staff are friendly and helpful but a few are arrogant
Room is relatively small, even smaller than hotels in Paris within the same price range

Magnifique hôtel, dans le centre mais très calme.
Les chambres sont décorées avec goût. Tout était parfait. Le bar de l’hôtel propose des cocktails excellent. Nous reviendrons.
