The food at La Mere Brazier was very good.

The service was definitely not two star Michelin service and if they keep it up they’ll never get a third and in fact may lose their second !

My glass was empty more than it was full. My wife had to fill the water for both of us several times.
I asked for a check by the end of night as I was nearly falling asleep 4 times. After waiting :20 I got up to pay it so we could leave …

I've never had such an infuriating experience in a fine dining restaurant, much less one holding two Michelin stars. The first hour of my solo meal was wonderful -- great food, attentive service, delicious bread, nice wine pairings with a great sommelier. It all went wrong about 90 minutes in, when after the fourth of five courses, all of which were delicious, the wait staff just vanished. For over half an hour -- I couldn't tell if there was an issue in the kitchen, or what, but the staff decided to leave me to wait and wait. Finally the dessert course arrived -- not particularly good -- and then, having dropped it off again, the staff once again disappeared. I think some went home. Eventually, I had to wander around to find someone to pay my bill, more than three hours into the meal and half an hour after finishing dessert. It is astonishing that a storied restaurant would just abandon its customers at the end of a meal and spoil the experience.
