THÉÂTRE CARRÉ 30
Read moreThéâtre Carré 30 is a small theater in the heart of Lyon. Since its creation five years ago, it has welcomed Lyon-based and emerging companies, offering a first opportunity for young artists to present their work to the public. The theater's programming is diverse, ranging from contemporary theater and improvisation to concerts and shows for young audiences. With only 30 tiered seats, intimacy is guaranteed and allows impressive proximity to the actors. Audiences often have the opportunity to meet the actors and share their impressions over a complimentary post-show drink. The theater also offers escape games on Heritage Days. To support this artistic initiative, the theater is looking for volunteers for the coming season.

THÉÂTRE LE GUIGNOL DE LYON (COMPAGNIE MA)
Read moreThe Guignol de la rue Carrand could just as easily draw the curtain following the departure of the Zonzons company - remote by the municipality whose relationship with Guignol still seems problematic… - with whom Guignol and his entire troupe (we must know that the puppets belong to the city…) had spent so many years. Let's say it all go, it wasn't going to happen like that! We are Lyon and Guignol is part of the heritage. Fortunately, the MA company took over the torch (we hope it won't stop) and we could attend a representation of Guignol and the 40 seats, "pestacle" programmed until June. We will probably have to wait until the spring to learn more about the fate of this beautiful house dedicated to Guignol which, we hope, will continue to live without ever becoming a museum!
LA MAISON DE GUIGNOL
Read morePunch always has a say, even when masked! We fell in love with this superb old-fashioned theatre in the heart of the Saint-Georges district, at the foot of the rugged Gourguillon hill and on the Place de la Trinité. Futé loves the good-natured atmosphere of the place, the café-theatre atmosphere, an integral part of Lyon's heritage, and of course the shows by Guignol from the classical repertoire or composed of creations. In addition, the Maison de Guignol offers excellent café-theatre shows in the evenings. Privatization possible.
L'ÂNE ROUGE
Read moreLyon, with its well-behaved image, is a city that loves humor. Established over 50 years ago in one of the most beautiful streets in the Renaissance district, l'Âne Rouge has forged a solid reputation in Lyon's cabaret scene, somewhere between theater and restaurant. In the shelter of its superb 16th-century cellar, it perpetuates a long tradition while keeping up with the times under the direction of Didier Bouchaud. Start at 8:30pm for a well-prepared dinner-show featuring the evening's comedian and a magician. A carefully-curated program that favors one-man shows, with some fine new discoveries. Laugh out loud as you wait for the dessert served at the end of the show. An authentic Lyon cabaret.
THÉÂTRE DE LA CROIX-ROUSSE
Read moreThe TXR is a popular theatre designed as a place to live. Formerly a village hall, this national stage offers a varied program that reaches a wide audience, from committed plays to the great classics. Directed by Courtney Geraghty, it is a place to promote the work of regional directors. It is also a place open to the world, whose theatrical art is also performed outside the walls with a travelling creation and a creation residency in a hospital environment.
COMÉDIE ODÉON
Read moreIn Lyon, there is the Roman Odeon on the Fourvière hill and there is the Comédie Odéon in the heart of the Presqu'île. A theatre that has reopened its doors for a season that promises to be exciting. The Comédie Odéon consists of a unique 300-seat theatre, a real gem of its kind. If the premises have kept a certain old-fashioned charm, they have been redesigned for our greater comfort as demanding spectators. Quality shows, great names in humour, theatre or music. A tempting program in an exceptional place.
