Castle full of history, ancient military fortress built by Renaud de Forez with towers, including a medieval dungeon, a hourd.

A place steeped in history, it has undergone restoration campaigns to safeguard its listed heritage. A former military fortress built by Renaud de Forez, Archbishop of Lyon, between 1213 and 1218, it was constantly occupied, even though its general condition deteriorated over time. Today, it has regained its superb appearance with its towers, including a medieval keep and an unusual "hourd" (dais). Gallo-Roman mosaics can be seen inside the château. Guided tours with the Arts Civilisations Patrimoine association.

C'est un lieu fabuleux ! Merveilleusement bien restauré. Il abrite régulièrement des expositions et des visites y sont organisées. Le panorama en haut du donjon est superbe, si vous avez le courage de gravir ses 117 marches... Coup de cœur : le hourd de la tour nord, un des plus anciens de France !

Pour avoir vécue à Anse ,très joli village, je confirme que le photos ont été prises devant la mairie sise à Anse. Sachant que lechâteau de la tour, se trouve à Trévoux 01600. Pas côté Rhône 69480. ????
