Domaine de la Tourade is a winery offering a wide selection of quality wines. The cultivation of vines and olives in Gigondas dates back to antiquity. In the ^1st century BC, Julius Caesar established a colony of veterans. The dominant grape is Grenache which makes it so powerful, so shimmering and so full-bodied. This family-run domaine, which has been in existence for five generations, offers exceptional bottles for moments of sharing and conviviality. The owner, Yves Cheron, is originally from Burgundy and studied viticulture and oenology in Beaune. He chose to settle in Gigondas, where he manages all his properties. The main grape varieties are Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, which are used to produce the red wines of Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise. Domaine La Roubine is a winery located in Gigondas, in the southern Rhône Valley. Founded in 2000 by Eric Ughetto and Sophie, the estate is now a family business. Eric is in charge of vinification in the cellar, while Sophie manages the winery. The domaine owns 15.5 hectares of vines spread over several appellations, including Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Séguret and Sablet. The land is situated on the main plateau on the left bank of the Ouvèze, at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, at an altitude of 300 meters. The clay-limestone soil, composed in part of Dentelles scree, lends finesse and concentration to the wines. The oldest part of the buildings of Domaine Les Goubert dates from before 1636, and is one of the first buildings erected outside the ramparts of the medieval village of Gigondas. This family works in several villages and appellations. The winegrower produces a wine as he likes, with character. His Gigondas are in red. The classic cuvée is a wine for laying down which goes well with fragrant meats: lamb, pigeon, game. It is the same with the more harmonious Cuvée Florence, which can be kept just as long: about ten years.

Today Pierre Amadieu took over the family torch and takes care of the vinifications and breeding of wines. It works with his uncle, Claude, which leads the vineyard. Vintage reference since 1929, the A.O.C. Romane Machotte Gigondas rosé is made by direct pressing of grenache, mounted with syrah and cinsault in bleedings, followed by a fermentation at low temperature to preserve fruity grapes. The other rosé are prepared on the different regions, First Steps, a local wine of the Mediterranean, La Gravinière, a A.O.C. Tavel, the claretière, a A.O.C. Ventoux and Roulepierre, a A.O.C. Le Moulin de La Gardette is a small family estate exclusively dedicated to the production of Gigondas wines. This vineyard on the slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail is carried out in organic farming (certified by Ecocert in 2012). It is planted with grenache (80%), syrah (15%), mourning and cinsault (5%). Grapes are harvested by hand and vinified according to traditional methods and as naturally possible, without added yeasts.

Domaine Santa Duc is a vineyard located in Gigondas. The estate's vines are planted exclusively on the Les Hautes Garrigues terroir on the Gigondas plateau. With a surface area of 2.8 hectares, this terroir is steeped in history, since the first vines were planted here over six generations ago. The vines, on average 75 years old, are cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, with Ecocert and Demeter certifications. The main grape varieties are Grenache and Mourvèdre, with partial destemming depending on the vintage and plot. Harvesting is carried out manually, with sorting in the vineyard, followed by a second table sorting. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, with fermentation lasting 20 to 30 days. The wines are then aged for 18 months in oak foudres and terracotta jars, before being bottled without fining or filtration. The wines produced in this terroir are renowned for their depth, spice, fleshy tannins and extraordinary longevity. Domaine Santa Duc is a must for lovers of quality wines in Gigondas.

Christian Meffre is the owner of a beautiful vineyard spread over 43 hectares, 75% on the plateau and 25% on the hillsides. Grenache dominates (60%) followed by Syrah (30%) and Mourvèdre (10%). Traditional vinification, total destemming, his wines are often cited and awarded medals. You will find old and new vintages at the cellar. Christian Meffre also owns Château Saint-Jean in Travaillan which produces Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Plan de Dieu. Competition 2018 gold medal for the gigondas.

At Clos du Joncuas, the vines are on terraces, sheltered from the wind. The technique is ancestral. The winegrower calls himself "the cultivator of the sun". The vineyard is gradually being converted to organic farming. The vinification is done in cement vats. The reds are aged in oak barrels. The estate offers gigondas in red, rosé and a cuvée with grenache spirit, vaqueyras in red and séguret in red and white.
