The commune of Gigondas is famous for its Dentelles de Montmirail and its renowned wine. It is part of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, the Vaucluse département and the Carpentras arrondissement. The commune has around 478 inhabitants and covers an area of 2714 hectares. Monuments include a menhir, the Chapelle Sainte Cosme and the Tour Sarrazine. Gigondas is also a member of several associations, including the Association des Maires de France and the Association des Elus au Patrimoine de Vaucluse.
