Since December 16, 2011, the gay Marseille have invested a new place in the middle of the Canebière! The Live, on 300 m ², is clearly gay, but not that… The history of the establishment is a beautiful family history: the father and the son manage Live… and are both gay! Located just a stone's throw from the Old Port, this small café is a real landmark for lovers of good coffee in Marseille. Owned by the same owner as the Green Bear Coffee, it is a place of North American inspiration, with a hushed atmosphere and refined furniture. You come here to spend a moment with friends or to work on your computer. Some very good vintages roasted on the spot, from Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua or even Myanmar and Ethiopia. Good coffee and good tea, sitting or standing, inside or on the terrace, this is what this historic tea/tea shop in Marseille offers! Created by the Standing Family in 1932, the Standing Café is now one of the last rotations of the Phocéean city. The grain bags and the time mills are there to testify. Cafes come from the most famous countries: Guatemala, Brazil, India, Bolivia, Jamaica, Kenya, Burma, Papua… Also, a wide choice of teas (Darjeeling, Ceylan, Earl Gray, China, Japan…) or perfumed. The Longchamp district is rich in good addresses, but it was lacking a coffee-shop worthy of the name where you could enjoy good specialty coffees at any hour, complemented by a pastry or lunch on the go. That's exactly what the young couple behind Pollux thought. Two conversions later, we find ourselves in a café with a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. It's like being in northern Europe or the United States, but with the conviviality that makes our city so charming. Local coffees from Brûlerie Moka in particular.

The opening of this new night bar was a real event in spring 2023. A name inspired by the song of the same name by Michel Berger, but an interior decoration with a Gatsby and Roaring Twenties feel. In the center of this bar, a superb piano of course. All this is very successful, the atmosphere is both hushed and festive. Every evening of the week, different parties, disco funk on Tuesday, 80's on Thursday and 90's house music on Friday. Everybody rushes there, the success is there. On the catering side, you can enjoy Damien Delgado's casseroles from the neighboring La Poule Noire. Choice of cocktails with evocative names: Resist, Some words of love...

Classifying this place was very difficult because as its name indicates, it is a place that can be described as eclectic! Halfway between a coffee-shop and a beer cellar, you can come here to have a coffee or share an aperitif with friends. It's a café that we like to visit at any time of the day. At lunchtime, you can eat a dish of the day. For the snack, pastries, cookies very tasty. Finally a selection of craft beers will delight you. Young and family clientele at the same time. We love the colourful and quiet terrace.

This new wine bar opened at the end of July 2022, a stone's throw from the boulevard de la LIbération, near the Longchamp district. It is in an old workshop (whose facade has been preserved) that one comes to taste astonishing vintages, living, natural wines, coming from Catalonia, Germany and elsewhere. Two small tables on the street, a little more inside. A large counter and a bar atmosphere in a garage quite surprising but quite pleasant. To accompany your wine, which will be very well advised by the young owner from Avignon, small cold plates of cold meats or vegetarian. Young and trendy clientele. Nice address in the neighborhood.

Announced for 2019, the new large cinema on the Canebière will finally be inaugurated in October 2021. A real event intended to give a cultural boost to the main artery of downtown Marseille. The building is a jewel box of modernity, with elegant geometric shapes. The cinema has 7 screens and offers mainstream films as well as a more alternative selection. The comfort and equipment are top of the range. On the first floor, the Blum brasserie. On the roof, an amazing rooftop, the Réformés. A major cultural venue!

Did you grow up in the '90s and are eternally nostalgic for that era? Then this brand-new bar, opening in September 2023, is for you. With a guaranteed fluorescent atmosphere and themed decor featuring posters, goodies and retro video games, you're in for a real childhood experience, and we have to say it's a real success. Totally unique in the region and unheard of in France, the famous living room from the American series The Simpsons has been recreated. There's a great atmosphere at the bar, with sports broadcasts and a fine selection of tapas in the evening. You won't soon be able to do without it.

A few weeks of work and a new skin for this café, which is now a must in the Opera district. The dynamic Dvozig is still at the helm with his unstoppable concept of tea and infusions bar. A cosy place with a beautiful terrace where you can lounge in the sun while enjoying the liveliness of the Place de l'Opéra. To eat now, Dvozig has revisited things with a tribute to its origins: small home-cooked Armenian dishes and snacks, at low prices. But Infusion is also and above all a place to discover the world of tea. About forty references and some of them change according to the seasons. We still like it, bravo to Dvozig who reinvents himself.

Forget what you imagine of a traditional karaoke as it is found in the 4 corners of France. Inspired by a famous concept found in Berlin and London, Sing or die Karaoké brings to Marseilles that touch of madness so eagerly awaited by song lovers! Here, there's nothing but good humour, kindness and no shame to be had. The audience is cool, the current playlists (and some classics, 3,000 tracks all the same) and above all we're having fun. Atmosphere halfway between punk and queer, open your eyes and ears wide. As a bonus, 4 soundproof boxes can be privatized to sing at the top of your lungs with friends or for the shyest ones.

Close to the Cours Estienne-d'Orves and its liveliness, sheltered by stairs leading to the Rue Sainte, this recently opened bar is festive and committed to a zero waste approach, quite unheard of for a nightclub. Indeed, here, when you drink beer, you clean the beaches: each liter of beer consumed allows the cleaning of one meter of beach by the committed teams of Le Mousse. Because Le Mousse, beyond being a committed brewery, is also and above all a brand of eco-responsible clothing produced in France. Drinking and partying for a good cause is a clever concept that we really like. While drinking sensibly of course because you won't save the planet alone.
