An ancient village, Brux would take its name from a Celtic rallying cry. In the heart of the village, the 12th century Saint-Martin church is a Romanesque jewel of the South Vienne. It has one of the rare roofs in slate of the department. A few steps away, the Expo Museum welcomes many artists, but also permanent exhibitions (heritage, clothes of 1900, butterflies of the world...). The castle of Epanvilliers is also worth a visit. Remarkable residence of the 17th and 18th centuries, the room known as Mme de Maintenon's room is worth seeing, as is the museum of ancient games which is held there. Illustrious soldier, Olivier Rivaud de La Raffinière lived in the castle of La Raffinière.
