This is the only store in town where you'll find the famous chocolates known as Cœurs d'Arras. For the record, they date back to the 12th century: Dame Emma Crespin, whose family coat of arms depicted hearts, owned a mill on the Crinchon (now an underground river) in the center of Arras. His specialty: heart-shaped pastries! In the 17th century, these pastries eventually became chocolates. Now made with dark or milk chocolate, but always with candied orange peel, they're a gourmet's delight.
