CHÂTEAU LES GRAUZILS

Winery
3/5
1 review

Most of this family vineyard is located in the commune of Prayssac. Faithful to the famous Malbec grape which gives the wine its lovely crimson color, Philippe Pontié continues the family tradition. His 20 hectares under permanent grass cover are the result of a love affair, in the continuity of the generations that have succeeded him since 1880. Constant attention to quality, respect for tradition and the environment have enabled Château des Grauzils, and in particular the Cuvée Essentiel (aged in oak barrels), to produce a complex, concentrated wine.

CLOS DE GAMOT

Winery

The Jouffreau family maintains a 25-hectare vineyard. It is one of the souls of the Cahors appellation, whose history is retraced by 30 murals in the underground cellars. Malbec is the king grape variety. Traditionally vinified after being harvested by hand for the old vines, its maturing in oak barrels produces elegant wines with balanced, coated tannins and long ageing potential, which the property's collection of vintages bears witness to. A key word to describe this vineyard: tradition since 1610.
