Prayssac, under the control of the bishop of Cahors, changed hands in the 12th century when the bishop ceded it to the lord of Cessac to settle his debts. Dominated by the castles of Calvayrac and Théron (15th century), Prayssac suffered the ravages of the Albigensian Crusade. Today, it is one of the Valley's most dynamic towns. Its weekly Friday morning market was voted "Most beautiful market in the Midi-Pyrénées" in 2019. The town's megalithic heritage is quite extensive: to discover it, you can take the dolmen trail and admire Caesar's armchair, the Bertrandoune or Quetty dolmen.
