Laroque d'Olmes, more generally known as "Laroque", was once famous for its textile factories which operated night and day. One still remembers the coloured waters of the local river, the Touyre, by the inks directly rejected. In those days there was no concern for the environment, all that has changed. The river is clean, the trout are happy and the town has retained an "industrial" charm. The church is worth a visit. From Mirepoix, the road will take you to Lavelanet, the ski resort of Mont d'Ormes and the castle of Montségur. The old railway line is also a stage of the green way in the Cathar Pyrenees.
