This village in the north-east of Metz appears for the first time in history thanks to Charlemagne! According to legend, the emperor would have decided to build a chapel there to thank the Virgin for helping her and his thirsty people, bringing a source under the feet of his horse. Nowadays, the chapel of Rabas is still the theatre of a pilgrimage every Monday of Pentecost. Vigy owes its fame to its forest environment, which has been used to develop several tourist activities.
