Located on the loops of the Moselle, a stone's throw from Nancy, Villey-le-Sec is a sparsely populated commune in the Toulois region. Its origins date back to the Neolithic period, when statues were discovered in the village. The village was founded in the 12th century by monks from the Toulois region. Part of the village was destroyed during the Second World War, but its church was rebuilt in 1955. The Villey-le-Sec fort is certainly the commune's most impressive monument to visit. Built between 1874 and 1879, it covers an impressive 40,000m2, lined with forts and casemates.
