Located on the left bank of the Meurthe, opposite Varangéville, 13 km from Nancy and 18 km from Lunéville, Saint-Nicolas-de-Port grew up around its saltworks. With a rich 1,500-year history, this ancient Gallo-Roman town owes its influence to the phalanx of Saint Nicolas, brought here in 1090 by Charles Aubert de Varangéville, before becoming an important fair town in the 16th century. Despite wars and the French Revolution, the town was reborn at the end of the 20th century. Famous for its Saint-Nicolas festivities, today it offers cultural venues such as the Museum of Cinema and Photography and the French Brewery Museum.
