Saint Nicolas is a sacred day. Saint Nicolas, the patron saint of Lorraine, is deeply rooted in the history and traditions of the region. It is a bit like Christmas before its time, as he goes round the schools to congratulate the good children by offering them gingerbread and chocolates, and the town is in celebration for ten days. Street shows, animations, workshops, concerts, theatre, Christmas markets, tastings of local products, artists' exhibitions... And the highlight: a magnificent parade of floats, created by Nancy and its agglomeration.

Every year, this urban event allows you to visit free of charge sites in Nancy that are usually closed, such as the Brasseries de Maxéville. It is also an opportunity to enjoy museums (Villa Majorelle, École de Nancy, Beaux-Arts), religious buildings (the Basilica of Saint Epvre or the cathedral), the Opera of Lorraine or the city hall. The Governor's Palace organizes conferences and lectures. The Heritage Days are the highlight of the year for sharing and discovering Nancy's culture. Take advantage of them!

The Voix du Monde international choral singing festival in Nancy is a major musical event that brings together choirs from all over the world every two years. In 2022, concerts and a grand closing evening took place. Since its creation in 1979, over 260 choirs from 63 different countries have taken part in the event. It's a festival of fraternity and exchange, with the special feature of artists and participants staying with local choir families. International choirs are already planned for 2024.

The Stanislas Seven is an international men's and women's rugby 7s tournament that takes place in the spring at the Matter Stadium. It brings together national and regional senior teams as well as specialized clubs and associations for two days. The different teams compete in pools and then in elimination matches. This competition attracts more and more international teams, giving rise to very beautiful tables against national selections of very high level. Many teams prepare their 7-a-side rugby season here... A success!

Every two years since 2013, La Biennale de la Danse offers two months of shows and performances around contemporary dance. At the origin of the event, there is the André Malraux cultural centre in Vandoeuvre-lès-Nancy, and the national stages in Bar-le-Duc and Forbach, with the obvious support of the Ballet de Lorraine. Subsequently, the event grew in size, to about thirty venues in the Grand-Est. A veritable laboratory for contemporary creation, which showcases both regional companies and troupes from all over the world.

The photographic event is organized biannually by the Observatoire Photographique du Grand Est, a structure that came into being after the International Image Biennial came to an end. The first edition of this event took place in 2021 on the theme of "Des arbres et des hommes" ("Trees and people"). In 2023, the featured photographers - both established professionals and up-and-coming artists - will work on the theme of "Dancing with the Earth". Artistic and cultural workshops, screenings, concerts, conferences and workshops will also be on the program.

RING for Rencontres internationales des nouvelles générations. Set up by Michel Didym, director of the Théâtre de la Manufacture, this festival takes place every two years and advocates the opening of theater to all audiences. It highlights new forms of theatrical expression, contemporary and committed, which shake up genres and codes, without borders: the companies come from all over Europe and elsewhere. The RING festival also includes meetings, debates, concerts and... a lot of fun!

The Bibasse Convention is a juggling festival that has been held every year for the past 8 years, at the end of May, at the MJC 3 Maisons. Four days dedicated to the circus arts and live entertainment, with performances in the street and under the big top, workshops and initiation workshops, open stages, gala, parade, games... A show for the general public, but which also allows artists to meet, work together and improve their skills in a warm atmosphere, with camping and parties in the big top. Reservations strongly recommended.

Organized by the ASPTT Nancy Meurthe-et-Moselle, this race takes place on the famous Saint-Nicolas day. A family and festive event above all: the 10 km race is a loop with no significant difference in altitude, in cobbled streets and alleys of the park, to be completed four times. At the end of the draw, participants will receive numerous prizes and bonuses at the finish line. A "family race" starts at around 12:00, for all, without medical certificate.

Every year, in the Sainte-Marie park, more than 120 craftsmen, horticulturists, gardeners, nurserymen, landscapers, gather for a weekend to show you their beautiful crops and their latest creations. We also think of spoiling you, with stands of producers of delicatessen, cheese, jams, ice creams and other local wonders. Over the years, this event has become an opportunity to talk with real professionals and enjoy a beautiful afternoon in one of the most beautiful parks in the city.
