With a passion for history and the arts, Maëlig initially focused on archaeology, before succumbing to her passion for the craft of chocolate. After working at Maison Cochet in Saint-Raphaël and Maison Saunion in Bordeaux, she obtained a CAP Pâtisserie with a mention complémentaire in Pâtisserie, Chocolaterie, Confiserie, Glacerie. An Artisan Chocolatier, she chose to set up her chocolate factory in Saint-Emilion, where she expresses all her creativity. Made in France, her packaging even includes cocoa pods.

Like fine wines, Maëlig’s chocolates are an incredible treat for the senses…The best chocolates I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Maëlig is the shop owner, super friendly and is a true artisan chocolatier. She has devoted her life to being the top chocolatier in the region. After years of studying to achieve the highest degrees available as a BTM chocolatier and multiple internships/apprentices, her shop is lively and welcoming with both locals and tourists.
Visiting with her, seeing the chocolate making process (btw, Maëlig uses the most ethical and responsible sourcing of ingredients and even has eco-responsible packaging…kudos!) and seeing her shop was truly a highlight of our Saint-Émilion trip.
Chocolaterie Maëlig is a MUST-SEE when you are in Saint-Émilion.
