Place de la Bourse, an exceptional monumental ensemble with the Three Graces fountain, Hôtel des Fermes and arcades in Bordeaux.
The Place de la Bourse is a monumental ensemble designed by Intendant Boucher and built between 1730 and 1755. On the rectangular square are the Hôtel des Fermes and the Hôtel de la Bourse, built on either side of a central pavilion. The facades of these buildings are adorned with mascarons. The Corinthian fountain-column of the Three Graces dates from 1869. The square was the first in France to open onto a river, and was built outside the city walls. It is now home to the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the Palais de la Bourse, an events venue.
