The city of Aumale, ceded to Normandy and its Duke Richard I in the 10th century, is located on a hillside. It offers visitors peaceful streets that, for the most part, still have their old cachet. The walk takes you through streets and squares full of memories, such as the streets of Sighs, Pottery and Prosecutors. But Aumale stands out above all for its many half-timbered houses to be contemplated in the Place des Marchés, which originally extended as it continued along rue du Bailliage. In addition to the beautiful covered halls and wooden facades, there are shops and old-fashioned shop windows. To visit with a little time: the Lambotte flour mill.
