The vineyard of the castle of Arlay would be one of the oldest in France. Vines are attested since 1070 at the foot of its fortress. This "Bon Pays" which borders both Bresse and Revermont belonged to the Burgundian counts. From then on, this enclave was called "Little Burgundy" because of the remarkable acclimatisation of the pinot noir grape. The vines are still grown here as they are in this region. The 25 ha estate is still run by the de La Guiche family (Alain, Anne and Pierre-Armand). It was a pioneer in the use of the lyre system.

Belle surprise que ce château car mon guide ne s'étendait pas dessus. L'intérieur est peu ouvert au public mais certaines pièces sont magnifiques. La visite du parc très romantique est très agréable avec des légendes accessibles via QRcode en plus de la brochure.
Un vrai regret pour le jardin des jeux qui n'a en fait rien de remarquable lors de ma visite (problème ponctuel ?).

Leuk chateau om te bezoeken, mooi bos/landgoed eromheen. €38 voor 5p. Incl. een leuke speurtocht voor de jongsten en een Nederlandse beschrijving/rondleiding(5 talen). Zelf alles bekeken(dus zonder gids) je kunt dan in het chateau alleen de onderste verdieping bekijken en stukken van de bijgebouwen en het oude landgoed met de hele oude ruïnes. Met het mooie zomerweer prachtig uitzicht op meerdere punten. Veel mooie foto’s gemaakt.
