The Carthusian monks were the first to cultivate vines on the slopes of Montaigu, as early as the 13th century. Since 1794, when the Domaine was acquired by the Pignier family, no fewer than seven generations have succeeded one another in working the acres of vines and producing exceptional wines. So it's only natural that she should have embarked on a biodynamic adventure 25 years ago. Winner of the Trophées de l'œnotourisme Jurassien 2025, this estate is representative of what we know how to do well as a Jura wine while respecting nature.

Founded in the 13th century by the Carthusian monks, the estate has belonged to the Pignier family since 1794, perpetuating a centuries-old winemaking tradition. Marie-Florence, Antoine and Jean-Etienne, the seventh and eighth generations of winemakers, invite you to discover this 15-hectare biodynamic vineyard, certified Demeter since 2003. They will share with you their passion for this singular land, revealing the secrets of maturing under veil, a method that gives Jura wines their distinctive character, as well as the main stages of vinification. A tasting workshop will enhance your visit to Domaine Pignier. Guided by a family member or an enthusiast from the estate, you'll explore the complex aromas of Trousseau and Poulsard. White wine lovers will also appreciate Chardonnay de la Reculée and Sauvageon, elegant cuvées that reflect the richness of the Jura terroir. Savagnin, a yellow wine aged for seven years in oak barrels under veil, deserves careful tasting. It is distinguished by its aromas of dried fruit, nuts, citrus and spices.
