Regional cheese and cream stores Bordeaux

The store features no fewer than 400 different cheeses, most of them traditional farmhouse and artisanal, selected for their quality and originality. They are matured in cellars in Machecoul in the Loire-Atlantique region, Pascal Beillevaire's homeland. The cheese dairy also makes its own cheeses (Machecoulais, Mojette, Brun de noix, Rocher Nantais, Secret du Couvent and Pont d'Yeu), as well as a wide range of fresh products such as raw butter and cream. A welcoming smile and good advice are a plus.

Ideally located in the charming Chartrons district and opposite the Garonne, Le Bistrot du Cheese invites you to rediscover the land. What will you find by passing the door of this institution? Cheese, of course, but not only. On your left, your eye will be immediately attracted by all these fine cheeses: cow, goat, sheep… Soft, tender, base or character, there are for all tastes. A little slack? Sit outside on the terrace if weather permits, or inside, in the midst of beautiful stones. The dining room is truly superb, between modernity and tradition. Take a look at the bottom of the restaurant, the bottles exposed should give you a chance. In order to accompany your wine, you are offered cheese and cheese plates, of the Foie Gras… The Cheese Bistro will have realised it, it is a place of conviviality with good local products and especially the good associated wine! For the most demanding or for the more intensive, you can leave with cheese, among others. The little plus: retransmissions of rugby matches.

Karine is cheerful and friendly. She always has a smile on her face, and invites us to taste her unusual cheeses, selected from the cellars of Meilleurs Ouvriers de France cheese-makers. The cheeses here are farmhouse, organic and artisanal. Our flagship product: Comté, matured for 18 months, a pure delight, a taste rediscovered. But let's not forget the reblochons, the goat cheeses, the classics, the inventives, the truffles for the festive season and the excellent beurre de baratte. Karine creates cheese platters to order.

To set up a dairy right in the center of town was a daring move... Chloé and Claire have done just that, and have created a convivial place with second-hand furniture that can accommodate around twenty people. The address also boasts a large terrace, where you can sample their products at lunchtime. The two milk-entrepreneurs produce mainly pasta filata cheeses, but also fromage frais, yoghurts and milk. The "Do It Yourself" workshops, where you can make your own mozzarella or burrata, are a highly original and enjoyable experience.
