Church built on the site of the old Gallo-Roman port, with an apse of the 15th century, beautiful vaults...
In Old Bordeaux, the Saint-Pierre district is one of the city's most charming. The church of Saint-Pierre, built in the 15th and 16th centuries on the site of the ancient Gallo-Roman port, stands on the square. Restored in the 19th century, the building boasts a 15th-century apse, beautiful vaulted ceilings and a17th-century wooden Madonna. Inside, you can also admire two paintings, one depicting Saint-Pierre receiving the keys to heaven (Nantiac, 1664) and the other, released from prison (Léon Pallière).
