Bordeaux's imposing Saint-André Cathedral stands proudly on Place Pey Berland. This 11th-century Gothic cathedral is one of the city's most sumptuous monuments. It has a rich history, from its construction and subsequent fire in the 18th century, to its restoration a century later. Now a Unesco World Heritage Site, it is one of the major stops on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, along with two other Bordeaux landmarks: the Basilica of Saint-Michel and the Basilica of Saint-Seurin.

A ne pas louper lors de votre visite à Bordeaux. D'une part les vitraux sont magnifiques et d'autre part l'édifice permet d'avoir une vue imprenable sur la ville. On aimera aussi le calme de la cathédrale.

Magnifique édifice incontournable à Bordeaux. Sur une place très vivante où l'on peut voir une statue de J. Chaban Delmas.
Il faut monter en haut de la Tour Pey Berland pour avoir, entre autres, une vue plongeante sur les détails de l'architecture

On est toujours impressionné devant ces batiments majestueux, on pense à leurs constructeurs sans comprendre : les piliers, les voutes .... et plusieurs siècles après l'ensemble est toujours debout.
