An important village in the Rognon valley, with 800 inhabitants, between Chaumont and Modèle, is traversed by the Rognon river and by Saint-Des Creek. The village is rather welcoming, with beautiful waterfront properties. A listed church, Saint Martin, rebuilt at the end of the last century, classified towers, another which served as a hunting rendezvous for the Dukes of Guise. You also have to admire the bridge of Doulaincourt with its five stone arches and the so-called "Montrol" house (rue Toupot-de-Beveaux): its gateway, facades.
