The name of Choiseul is probably not unknown. Knights, close to kings, the Choiseul marked the history and the Haute-Marne. Thus, the trace of these illustrious characters can be found in the department, particularly in this area: Choiseul, Breuvannes-en-Bassigny, Colombey-les-choiseul, Aigremont. The Choiseul dispersed their castles or residences. Here in Choiseul, the medieval castle on the Saint-Nicolas coast took place. This castle, cradle of the family, was several times reworked, unfortunately, degraded and then abandoned in the th century. There are only a few stones from the wall wall.
