The Barsuraubois region bears the imprint of the monks of Clairvaux. It was here, in the "land of living waters", that St. Bernard chose to settle, in the midst of a lush, dark landscape. In the 12th century, the monks pushed back the limits of the forests, planted vineyards on the hillsides and set up the first industrial activities: forges and glassworks in the valley bottoms. The Barsuraubois was born. The church in Ville-sous-la-Ferté houses the shroud of Bernard de Clairvaux. Today, the commune has around a thousand inhabitants. Archery, fishing and hiking are just some of the activities not to be missed during your visit.
