Arc-en-Barrois is a beautiful city, with a noble castle today built in hotel, with duplex rooms at very reasonable prices by the way. This green holiday resort on the edge of the Aujon is surrounded by forests. The church (of the thirteenth century) is classified, with its very rare path of lead cross. Out of curiosity, we have to see the cooler, a masonry building of 8.5 m high, in the form of an egg and buried - it was used to store ice from the castle pond - and the 1896 steam machine, which fed a sawmill, an enormous machine on three floors. The mechanisms are presented in motion thanks to an electric motor. In front of the castle, the Petit Futé recommends you to stop at the Hotel du Parc. Also continue, nearby, with the underground of Bugnières, which leads, after a gallery of 232 m long, to a three-nef room, and Marac's pigeon (XII century, 1,500 bucks). To the south, near Rouvres-sur-Aube, the waterfall of Etuf, a magnificent petrifying cascade, takes place in calcareous steps. Legend says they were shaped by the devil. Every year, Saint-Hubert celebrates the last weekend of November in Arc-en-Barrois with exhibitions on hunting and singing of the caves.
