On the road, beautiful views over the valleys and the argonnaise forest. Arrival at destination: the charming village of Neuville-Day, three Flowers in the classification of the Flower Villages, situated on a mound overlooking a valley occupied by the Ardennes Canal. Along the canal, in the place of La Coquée, a specific economic activity was developed, the excavation of the canal around 1850, the decline of inland waterway transport, around 1960. But this Neuville Village is mainly fraught with the disasters of the two wars, since it was destroyed by French artillery at the beginning of November 1918, the commune being given the 1914-1918 war cross with fins in 1921. Rebuilt on the mound (Neuville) and in the valley (La Coquée) in the early 20 s, it was abandoned by the population in the German offensive of May 1940 and burned to October 1940 by German propaganda for the needs of a film. It will finally be reinstated in 1945 and the church will be rebuilt in 1960.
