Things to see and do Piedmont

A collection of 15 000 works (only one part is exhibited) of international, Italian and Piedmontese artists from the th century to the present. There are also an impressive number of contemporary Italian artists, such as the sculptor Medardo Rosso, Modigliani, Sironi, De Chirico, Morandi, De Pisis, Felice Casorati, Lucio Fontana, Guttuso, and representatives of the "Poor Art" movement, the main one being Michelangelo Pistoletto. Finally, with regard to foreign artists, Klee, Picasso, Léger and Chagall.

Located next to the monastery, this museum, founded by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), covers the history of mountaineering and mountain exploration, and the life and traditions of the inhabitants of the Italian Alps until the beginning of the xxth century. He is dedicated to Luigi di Savoia, duke of Abruzzo, an explorer duke who was the first to reach the top of the K 2 summit. You can also see objects that belonged to the members of the Italian expedition at the North Pole in 1907.

An impressive structure of glass and iron built in 1961 and characterized by original mushroom-shaped columns.

Said the Fetta di Polenta, this building, 1884, has the shape of a polenta slice. It is an original achievement of Antonelli, an architect of the Mole.

Very beautiful frescoes cover almost entirely an exterior wall of the chapel. They represent Virtue, the ride of Vices and the punishments of Hell. The frescoes painted in the famous chapel of Saint-André in the Ramats, in the hamlet of Chiomonte, belong to the same school.

For the most courageous, the site offers the possibility of measuring at the via ferrata in the imposing gorges dug by the river of Du Riparia. Departure and return from Giaglione. There are many waterfalls in the Novalesa Valley. They are visible from the village. Their access is well indicated ("Cascate").
