Did you know that the abbey of Sablonceaux was surrounded by a 70 hectare vineyard? After visiting this magnificent monument, take a break at the Domaine de la Chauvillière located in the Bon Bois cognac appellation. The Hauselmann family has been working there since the 1950s and produces the two alcohols that are well known to the people of Charente (cognac and pineau) but also, since the 1980s, local Charente wines (chardonnay and sauvignon for the whites, merlot for the rosés and reds). Olivier Buisine has an unusual and little-known job: he's an itinerant distiller. He comes to your home and distills your fruit macerations to extract the best eau-de-vie. In winter, Olivier distills for private customers as well as for himself: it's in summer that liqueurs, aperitifs and eaux-de-vie are available for sale. Custom vintages are proposed, and the bottles not consumed can be seen, in other words the "king client" is not a myth!

The island of Ré is a land of flavors, known as much for its salt flower, its oysters and its vineyard. An ancestral activity, the culture of the vineyard benefits on the island from a temperate climate and an important sunshine. To learn more about the wines, you can visit this cooperative, open all year round, which offers a guided tour of the distillery, the cellars before tasting wines and pineaux. It can be said that Bellevue Castle bears its name. Located in Plassac, at the top of a promontory, it offers superb views of the estuary and its surroundings. The property, built in 1808, is surrounded by 9 hectares of vineyards. 60,000 bottles are produced here each year in red and glazing with a 70% merlot. You are discovering the Bordeaux vineyards? The Maison du Vin de Saint-Emilion is a good place to start! At the same time place of exhibitions and tastings, the House of Wine of Saint-Emilion has also a store with more than 450 references. In the tasting room, you will discover the appellations Saint-Emilion, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Lussac Saint-Emilion and Puisseguin Saint-Emilion. In the company of a sommelier trainer, you will learn the keys to tasting.

The Saint-Emilion cradle of the Moueix family, Château Fonroque has been owned by the Guillard family since July 2017. Designed and built by the architect P. Teisseire, the Maison des Vins, adjacent to the Syndicat Viticole de Pomerol, is a space dedicated to the sale and promotion of the Pomerol appellation. You will find a large choice of Pomerol wines sold at château prices. The best welcome will be reserved for you. On its side, the Wine Syndicate gathers all the wine growers of the Pomerol appellation and works for the defense and the promotion of its wines. Open on Saturday, but not on Monday in August.

The wines of the noble house Lafite took off when a Bordeaux doctor prescribed this wine to King Louis XV as the best and most pleasant tonic. If this 18th century building is adorned with rich Napoleon III furniture that is worth a look, the main curiosity remains the circular winery designed by the architect Ricardo Bofill. Combining aesthetics and functionality, the working buildings are the reason for the worldwide reputation of this first classified growth.

The Bas-Armagnac region of Landes is highly renowned for the quality of its wine production. Domaine d'Espérance is no exception, and excellence is the order of the day at this estate. With great kindness, Jean-Louis and Claire de Montesquiou will take you on a tour of the wine and armagnac cellars, before inviting you to taste one of their vins de pays: white "Cuvée d'Or", red "Cuvée Rouge", rosé "Cuvée Rosée", or their aperitif, white and rosé floc de Gascogne... Among the vines, the owners have set up a Bacchus gîte.

Voted best wine brandy producer in the world in 2022, Armagnac has always been at the heart of this superb estate, handed down from generation to generation. Gilles de Boisséson, the current owner, represents the ^10th generation. The estate covers 400 hectares, with 22 hectares of vines and 200 hectares of woodland. The château is currently the oldest family estate in the Armagnac appellation. The eau-de-vie produced is immediately transferred to oak barrels, which are then aged in a stone and earthenware cellar dating from 1876.

A showcase for the Landes region, Domaine d'Ognoas and its 565 hectares of Bas-Armagnac have been producing AOC armagnac since 1905 and floc since 1990. Guided tours will introduce you to the precious beverage, available in vintages of varying ages. With over 300 references in organic, biodynamic and natural wines, spirits and bubbles from small regional producers, Adrien, a Basque-Burgundian vintner and defender of taste and a job well done, offers us... Mahatsa is also a meeting place, with exhibitions by painters and a monthly oenology "school" over a plate of food.

Located on the heights of Chaniers, the 35 ha farm is run by Caroline and Mathieu who will help you discover a gastronomic heritage. These "bouilleurs de cru" (distillers) perpetuate an ancestral know-how and are eager to promote the Charentais local wines, the Pineau des Charentes and the famous Cognac in a true spirit of commitment. For three generations, the Montel family has been growing vines on the slopes of Thézac, on a stony clay-limestone soil. It is now Yannick, THE producer of IGP Thézac-Péricard wine; he makes accessible and friendly wines. His wines include Tradition, a fruity red to be drunk young, then Dionysos, a more powerful red and finally a rosé, Instant Fraîcheur. This passionate farmer has kept a breeding of Blonde d'Aquitaine and offers their meat. You can also find him on the markets of Bon, Puymirol and Lamontjoie.

In 1906, a handful of producers grouped together behind a small appellation began a wonderful adventure. Today, 7 grow some 50 hectares of vines. The boutique offers you the fruit of the labours of these winegrowing families. Why vin du tsar? French President Armand Fallières used to offer this wine to his guests of honor. One of the recipients of these diplomatic gifts was Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. Come and taste our reds, rosés and whites! Petit Futé recommends the semi-dry "Rosé des Pierres".

Catherine and Isabelle Orliac cultivate 10 ha of vines on their family estate of 30 ha. The sisters combine tradition and modernity to give birth to wines of character with long vatting periods. They produce red wines for laying down, matured in oak barrels, and pleasant and fruity rosés. Recently, following an ancestral family recipe, Catherine and Isabelle have been making "Family Secrets" aperitifs at low degrees, formerly served at the Court of Versailles.
