A modern spirit, a warm welcome from passionate professionals, a constantly expanding range of exceptional wines, regular events: the Cave du Palais is one of the best in Pau. Whether it's regional vintages or jewels from elsewhere, the work of each artisan is ardently defended. You'll find a vast selection of natural, organic and biodynamic wines. You can also discover these wines at wine-tasting evenings. Spirits are not forgotten, nor are beers. Thomas Buisson's team, a former musician turned wine merchant, will guide you to the perfect elixir!

INCONTOURNABLE

So i purchased two bottle of wine of red wine for 100 euros . The staff seems to knowledgeable. and pleasant. That night we opened one of the two bottles and it really tasted like vinegar. Our partyof five all agreed that it was not drinkable and it tasted and smelled like vinegar. The next day we contacted the store to advise them of the problem and the lady asked us to bring the bottle back with the receipt. When the bottle was brought back we were met by three employees who basically told us there was nothing wrong with the wine and that we were amateurs and an insult to the cultivator. They were rude and refused to give us a refund or a replacement for the ( 40 euros) bottle. A wine professional won’t try to bully you into thinking a bad wine is drinkable. Now we have been drinking red wine for many years and , this was my second time in 30 years that i had to return a bottle to a store. A good shop should accept the return as long as the bottle isn't empty (which begs the question how bad could the wine have been?). IF the store knew anything about being in the business they could have pass on the cost of spoiled wine to its source, the distributor.
So don't expect a replacement or a refund if you unluckily get a bad bottle, but do expect to be bullied and be send away with your crappy bottle of wine.
