Under the magnificent 15th century covered market hall of the village, the summer market on Wednesdays at the end of the day brings together local producers and food lovers who come to eat there. Let yourself be tempted by the fattened duck produced in Meymac, the jams and blueberries from Jassoneix or the trout from the Millevaches plateau. Tables, benches and barbecues are at your disposal to consume market products on the spot so that you can spend a pleasant evening with friends or family.

The summer market of Montrol-Senart is a good opportunity to complete the visit of the village in a friendly way. At the initiative of the "Los Moteraus" association, local producers are found to welcome the inhabitants and visitors and offer their meat, vegetables, snails, cheese and homemade pastries. In the centre of the stalls, large tables are installed, crockery and barbecue are made available. The musical atmosphere is often an appointment.

In 1755, the Intendant de Tourny decided to establish a branch of the Grand-Marché on the Place du Parlement. It was named the Royal Market. It was then moved to the Quai des Salinières and finally moved to the Place Saint-Michel in 1960. Today, some 160 traders are spread out on the Place du Bourg and on the Quai des Salinières, offering mainly foodstuffs, but also various items for the home, cosmetics, shoes and clothing. Ideal to buy in quantity, because there are often interesting offers.

You might think that the Chartrons covered market is actually on the market square, sheltered under the metal and glass hall, but no. To find it, you have to go to the rue Sicard. Seven professionals who select the best of our land (fishmonger, vegetable seller, cheesemonger, delicatessen, oyster merchant, wine merchant and a butcher) welcome customers who come to look for fresh and quality products in a friendly atmosphere. Another market of the Chartrons is held in the open air on the quays on Sunday.

Close to the town center, in the attractive, family-friendly neighborhood of the same name, the semi-covered Victor Hugo market is a popular institution, a meeting place for the stalls of 80 merchants, craftsmen and producers.

Diversified, affordable and on a human scale, it is enthroned in the heart of the square, around which cafés, a school and small local shops extend the intergenerational dynamic of the place.

La P'tite Halle is a... small shop selling fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, hygiene products, local and organic produce, groceries and a fine selection of wines. In Arès, La P'tite Halle is located in the town center (there's a parking lot right in front). But it's also in Lège, on the route du Grand Crohot. All year round, locals go there to stock up on good things, and in summer, they rub shoulders with tourists who don't hesitate to put together their picnic baskets before heading off to the beaches.

The annual Soulac Gastronomic Fair takes place around August 14th and 15th in Place Aliénor d'Aquitaine. In a friendly, family atmosphere, artisans, winemakers and producers come together to offer visitors all the local produce of the Médoc, as well as Aquitaine specialities: wines, spirits, liqueurs, foies gras, charcuterie and other regional products... Marc, Anne-Marie, Bruno and Guy, the 4 "Copains des champs", created the shops in Eysines and La Teste-de-Buch with the aim of developing direct sales, short circuits, total traceability of origin and the promotion of the know-how of small producers in the region and sometimes a little further afield. You can buy butchery, charcuterie and poultry as well as trout, vegetables and seasonal fruit, dairy products, groceries, ready-made meals, preserves, wines, fruit juices, etc.

They are the commercial lung of the city center, the den of the producers, craftsmen and professionals of the food trades. This mythical place has been entirely rehabilitated. The stallholders are spread over 2 levels, and collective tasting areas have also been set up. A 250 m² brewery has opened its doors. The producers' floor has been recreated on 1 811 m². Light, lightness and transparency are the main themes of these new Halles, which offer: market gardeners, fishmongers, delicatessens, caterers, butchers, rotisseries, bakeries, pastry shops, wine shops and stands dedicated to coffee and olives... The appointment of the Teichois takes place on Saturday morning from 7:30 am until 1:30 pm, place du Souvenir, in the city center, between the church and the town hall. From dawn onwards, traders take to the streets and squares of the town. Among the 80 stallholders (up to 100 in summer), many are producers. The Castillon-la-Bataille market is a lively affair, with an emphasis on quality food products: seasonal vegetables, of course, as well as meat and charcuterie, fish, cheeses... And depending on your mood, a caterer will also be on hand to treat you to regional specialities.

Ferm'envy is the ideal farmer store and over 120 producers in the region help to make this magnificent showcase of the land alive. This old market from Palaise, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, has successfully migrated to the Billère market hall. Organic agriculture is available in all its forms thanks to about thirty traders coming mainly from Bearn or neighbouring departments such as the Hautes-Pyrénées, Landes or Gers. Quality, freshness and conviviality are the order of the day: seasonal fruits and vegetables of course, but also meats and poultry, cheeses, breads and honey, teas and coffees, and fair trade products. Mini-conferences on ecology and climate are sometimes organized. Under this beautiful wooded hall, you can combine business with pleasure!

At Mélie's, everyone smiles... even the fish! Seafood lovers, this is the stall to visit. You will find a crowd of regulars, nothing surprising, this fishmonger's has been installed for nearly ninety years in the central market hall. Don't be afraid of the queue! The Petit Futé strongly recommends that you wait because here, the welcome is warm and above all the fish is of high quality. Most of them come from the ports of La Rochelle and La Cotinière and, in addition, you will receive advice on how to cook them!

The Carcans market takes place all year round on Friday mornings from 8am to 12.30pm in the Place de l'Eglise. During the summer, head for the Place du Marché in Carcans-Maubuisson, on Wednesday mornings, from 8am to 1:30pm. On Monday mornings, between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., go to Place Marcel Prévot in Carcans plage. Every Thursday evening in summer, you can also stroll along the seafront at the Foire artisanale et gastronomique from 5pm to 10pm. Fill your basket with local fruit and vegetables, oysters from the Bassin or the estuary, and other local produce.

Pellegrue's traditional market is held every Wednesday morning in the town center. However, during the summer months (July and August), the bastide also boasts night markets. You'll find local produce, local wines, Bazadaise meat, duck and cheese from nearby farms. And musical entertainment always livens up the festivities. It's all about good food and good cheer. It's also an opportunity to visit churches and fortified houses.

With the Halles now open on Sunday mornings, the Gramont market might have feared it would disappear. But it hasn't! This small market with its dozen or so traders has managed to retain its clientele. Its location on a beautiful square with ponds and tree-lined alleys is a real asset. You'll be able to feast on organic vegetables and bread, fresh oysters from the Ile d'Oléron or crisp, hot Asian dishes. Under the arcades, antique books and vinyl will also feed the collector's spirit! And why not enjoy the terrace of the Bar des Pyramides while waiting for the spit-roasted chicken to be cooked to perfection?

Well-known to tourists for its lighthouse, which needs no introduction, the village at the end of the island also has a market that will delight all those in search of fresh produce. On foot or by bike, head for the village centre for a walk that will whet your appetite! Everyone can come here to stroll in front of the stalls of local producers of fruit and vegetables before preparing lunch or go to the famous conch for an iodized picnic. The Coaurde market is not as large as its counterpart in Bois Beach, but it has the merit of offering fresh and seasonal produce. Under the Halles you will find mainly food products (fish, oysters, cheeses). On the outside and from the spring, many stands settled on the rearranged square recently: jewelry, clothing, flowers. Another market takes place in the center of the village and is discovered on the detour of an alley. It brings a touch of color to the place of the church.

If the markets of La Rochelle and Rochefort are among the most important in the department, then Dompierre's is not worth it! Located on the doorstep of the town, the small municipality also has a perfect place to find fresh produce. Gai and authentic, he attracts many hungry inhabitants every Sunday to meet local producers who hold place under the halls. Like the other villages on the island, Dolus has a market where you can stock up on fresh produce. It has the advantage of being close to a large parking lot, making parking easy. Under the covered market halls and in the pedestrian streets, you can meet producers and fill your shopping bag at the same time. Don't miss the night market, held every Monday in season. Some 70 stallholders are on hand to delight those who want to stroll, but also enjoy live music and specialities.

In Grand-Village-Plage, you'll have plenty of time to fill your shopping bag! Head for Les Halles, open every day in season, to stock up on local produce. In summer, it's a pleasure to visit the other market, at the Port des Salines. For over 20 years, colorful stalls have been blooming every summer. Not only will you discover friendly traders, but you'll also have plenty of time to stroll along the new interpretation trail. There's something for everyone: beauty products, cakes, fruit and vegetables...

This market is held every day in season. Located under the covered market, it attracts both locals and tourists looking to stock up on fresh produce. It has the advantage of being close to a large parking lot, a playground and an ocean walk offering magnificent views. Every Sunday, during the two months of summer, the merchants come to install their stands. After the beach and before going to the funfair, we come to stroll for a moment to discover artisanal products.

Les Halles d'Hossegor is an inviting, lively and bustling local shopping area. On the menu: greengrocers, fishmongers, butchers, patisseries, creameries, as well as Italian and Oriental specialties, a cannery, oysters and other local products. In all, there are 17 retailers offering a wide range of quality products! Locals and tourists alike love to drop in and enjoy a glass of wine with some seafood or tapas. Great atmosphere!

Hossegor's traditional market is held in the town center near Les Halles: Wednesdays and Fridays from mid-June to the end of September, and Sundays (until November). The easiest way to find out is to ask at the Tourist Office, or at the reception of your hotel or campsite. They can also tell you about special markets such as Easter, Ascension and Whitsun. Since 2022, the evening craft market has been held on Sundays in July and August. The farmers' market is held in Soorts on Saturday mornings.
