ARTS PAVILION
Read moreCompletely restored by the City, the fabulous Art Pavilion and its rooftop terrace serving the funicular have been found for a few years. A former showers with showers from 1831 to 1884, he was one of the architectural witnesses of the first transformations of the city in the second half of the nineteenth century. It was in 1884 that the municipality bought the building to install the Casino (the Palais Beaumont will only be built in 1899). It is then a mondain place of life. With the arrival of the new century, the Pavilion and its whole area are changed, the palm grove is installed in 1900 and the funicular in 1908. The building is a remarkable technical work, monumental seen from below and discreet when it is at the top. His illusion of a two-tier building is a feat. It is used to host municipal events, offices, exhibitions, over the years. Today, this place for exhibitions with particularly those of CAUE 64, debates and cultural encounters is a real place of life in the city creating a link between its lower and upper parts.

SAINT-ANDRÉ CHURCH
Read moreThe church Saint-André is the oldest church in Angoulême, built in the th century. It was the chapel of the counts Taillefer who had their palaces just opposite. This church suffered numerous damage during the Hundred Years War and religious wars. It was completely restored in the th century. His style is a mixture of novel, Gothic and neo-classical, making it an atypical building. More recently, in 1999, the cartoon writer Yslaire painted a wall in contempt, which also worth a detour.

THE VENTAS OF THE COL D'IBARDIN
Read moreNo one in the region comes to this geographic area, without passing through Ibardin, walkers to walk there, others to go there shopping because we do not count the number of polyols. There are everything, perfume pens, supermarkets, shops specialized in cigarettes and alcohols. It is one that we can see from far because it dominates the situation. This is the Venta Venta, one of the ventas of the famous Peio, the one that has climbed to Dancharia, the Landibar, at once venta, bar, restaurants and nightclub. Here its venta is more modest, but it occupies a sacred area with the ground floor a mini-supermarket where you find, for example, barrels filled with Porto, Moscatel, Martini, from which bottles can be filled.
A perfumery and a restaurant and on the floor, a huge boutique where you can find everything, on the one hand, on leather clothes, baggage, handbags, little jewelry, some traditional clothes, Basque clothes, one other, famous white, velvet and other decorative arms, and great trinkets. An Ali Baba cave!

PRINCE OF WALES'S TOUR
Read moreThe so-called Prince of Wales tower was built at the end of the th century. This building is part of the fortifications around the city, it also served as a door, a garrison housing and a grain warehouse. From the th century, this tower became a prison where faux, smugglers of salt were imprisoned. At this time, gabelle (salt tax) varies according to provinces (ten times cheaper from one region to another) involving significant traffic. In 1994, artists Angel Leccia and Jacques Old invested this place by performing two works of art. These enduring works, while testifying to current artistic practices, are a new challenge to the already long memory of this heritage. Angel Leccia's video installation has its place inside the wooden prisons in which the captives of the tower were once locked.
