Discover Melle's magnificent washhouse.
This magnificent washhouse, built in 1793, was Melle's first. You'll discover a superb, vast hemicyclic basin (1814) with a roof and chimney added in 1937 to enhance the washerwomen's work. The site and its aquatic meander, where you discover a floral meadow dotted here and there with calendula and cornflowers, are enchanting. The Mellois enjoy their summer picnics and aperitifs here, in the shade of generous apple trees. A romantic and refreshing stopover. Accessible via the Discovery Trail.
