This charming church and its close surroundings (small cemetery and Grand-Rue) remind the atmosphere of a village heart. It is right since we are here in the old centre de Charonne, a commune annexed to Paris in 1860. The architecture of the building is composite. It includes elements ranging mainly from the th to the th century. Since its subsoil is unstable, the church has been closed to the public since 2009 for an indefinite period. No, this garden is not dating from the Middle Ages, but it's so easy to cheat the style! Created in 2000 by landscapers Eric Ossart and Arnaud Maurières, this modern park draws inspiration from the Cluny Museum, close to the premises. They are followed with pleasure and interest, especially those on its terrace where plants are grouped by theme: vegetable (cabbage, onion, chives…), medicinal plants (sage, hysope, street, absinthe…), celestial garden (roses, violets, daisies, pasquerets, read, iris), love garden (thyme ornaments, eillets…). To see again, this time in the square opposite the museum: the carpet thousand flowers, inspired by the tapestries that form part of the collections of this institution.

If you look for the relationship between Bucentaure and travel, you will discover first that in Greek mythology the bucentaure is no other than a centaur (man with a horse) having a bull body. Apart from the galopade of which such a creature is capable, but which cannot lead it far, there is little link with travel. On the other hand, learning that the Bucentaure (in Italian Bucintoro) was a parade building that we used in Venice to celebrate the wedding of the doge with the sea, one will find one, this time, eminently poetic and suggestive! The person who placed his activity under such a banner by choosing this name, a program of dreams and history for himself, is Beatrice Lubin, a lecturer of the Ecole du Louvre.
