When you walk through the door of Gérard and Corinne Hotte's farm, you already know almost everything about the adventure of the little apple in the Champagne-Ardenne region. At the beginning, Gérard and Corinne, not wanting to give up the farm (although it was too small for them to make a living from it), decided to restore the orchards, replanting apple trees of old local varieties and opting straight away for organic farming. There is love in all of this: the couple share their passion by welcoming the public to the 19th century farmhouse and to the Pays d'Othe museum set up in the barn where three centuries of memory and old materials are recorded. A journey through time accompanied by a visit to the orchards and a tasting. It's so intoxicatingly beautiful. Ciders? You will taste a few choice vintages, some of which won medals at the Paris agricultural competition: traditional cider from the Pays d'Othe, sweet cider, Champagne cider "Saveur de pommier", still cider, and also new products such as Cidromel or rosé cider, as well as rapeseed oil or cider brandy. Note: the old-fashioned pressing (as in the Middle Ages), which takes place on the last Sunday in September with horses and stone millstone, is not seen anywhere else.

For the past 25 years, the apples from their orchards have helped to supply the local cooperative (Agrial), but, cleverly, they always keep a small portion aside to make Brie champenoise cider, a blend of the farm's own apples and old varieties collected in the surrounding area. Lise and Sébastien Fuchs have a passion for good things and they share it with you in their charming delicatessen. In their shop, all good stuff! The stalls are full of specialities from the four corners of France that smell of the land, but also of Mediterranean and sunny flavours. From Gascon black pork hams and sausages and oyster rillettes, to artisanal beers and cheese slates for your raclette evenings, to fresh handmade pasta in Italy, Andalusian gazpacho, mozzarella and burrata, you will only find finely selected quality products here that will excite your senses.

Coming from a long line of winegrowers, Éric Rodez carries on the family tradition with love and respect for the land. The estate is certified HVE (High Environmental Value). His vineyards stretch along the Ambonnay-Bouzy hillside, while the three production sites (presses, winery and cellar) are located in old Ambonnay. You'll be able to taste our Grand Cru champagnes after an instructive visit, during which you'll admire the two traditional presses, the pressing center, and the oenology and dressing rooms.

Located a few kilometers from Reims, Hubert and Béatrice Fagot's estate extends over ten hectares of vineyards scattered throughout the town. The house favors sustainable farming practices in order to produce quality champagnes. Two ranges are offered, Joseph and Hubert Fagot as well as ratafia, old marc and old fine de Marne. It is also possible to book their three pretty rooms decorated with care.

Producer-collecting vineyards southwest of Epernay, in the Marne Valley, Gilbert Lagache sells on site a nice selection of champagne and sparkling wines. Besides the best wines based on Pinot meunier of this small producer. The company Lagache uses as other producers personalized capsules for its bottles of champagne. Its capsules are distinguished by their central cut surrounded by clusters on gold background with a Bordeaux contour.

The visit of this family exploitation, through an offer of 4 different tasting circuits, starts with the vineyards, then the three Champagne grape varieties. We then go to the modern presses where we will see beautiful murals that illustrate the work at the beginning of the century. In the winery, we are amazed by the oak tuns decorated with sculptures. Finally, tasting inside a huge barrel that can contain the equivalent of 50,000 bottles!

La ferme gourmande is first of all a goat farm that you can visit for free, including by attending the milking, and you can even give the kids a drink! Nice, isn't it? President Raymond Poincaré was a great fan of croquets! Invented in 1854, they are made from flour, sugar, eggs, vanilla and almonds. As for the rochers (roasted Piedmont hazelnuts crushed and then baked before being mixed with melted milk chocolate), legend has it that they refer to the Dames de Meuse, the seven enormous rocks found on the road leading from Verdun to Saint-Mihiel.

If you are in the area, don't miss a visit to the farm located in the centre of the town of Audun-le-Roman, with tastings during or at the end of the visit. Jean-Pierre Thierry is specialized in breeding. He offers whole or half lambs and for barbecues, sausages, merguez, brochettes... as well as dry sausage. The speciality of the house is the Marinettes, lamb sausages with small vegetables. A great opportunity to discover and eat these local products!

Located in the south of the first slopes of the Côtes de Toul, where the Moselle valley and the Côtes de Meuse meet, the estate extends its vineyard over the villages of Buligny and Blénod-lès-Toul. The vineyard is composed of pinot noir, auxerrois and gamay. A particularity of the domain, in addition to the organic agriculture, is the presence of mirabelle orchards, another specialty of Lorraine. Today, there are 12 ha of vines and 6 ha of mirabelle plum orchards that flourish on clay-limestone slopes, exposed to the south and southeast.

Fruits and vegetables directly from the producer, it is at the harvest of the Pompelle. Here, you can taste the authentic flavour of tomatoes and strawberries grown in the open air. Fruits and vegetables are harvested throughout the seasons and even in winter, you will find a beautiful choice of winter vegetables. Chocolaterie-pâtisserie Heitz is a true Haguenauvian institution. Founded in 1918, it has been run by four generations of master confectioners. Vincent has been running his estate organically for 20 years and has been offering a range of natural wines (without added sulfite, filtration or residual sugar) for 10 years. His Crémant Chardonnay has been awarded 17.5/20 in the 2021 ranking of Alsace crémants by the German magazine VINUM. Another nugget to discover: The Beurot Nature, a wine made from a pinot gris rosé maceration, fruity and greedy.

Step through the door into Anne-Marie's world: on the wine side, she offers her favorites from Alsace estates, as well as beers and discovery gift baskets. A selection of cognacs, armagnacs, rums and whiskies will delight the most discerning palates. Champagne Jacquinet Dumez traces its origins back to 1935, in the Premier Cru village of Sacy. From Henri Dumez's three hectares of vines, a first 100% pinot noir cuvée was born. Today, in the Premier Cru village of Les Mesneux, Aline, Olivier and their daughter Diane continue the family tradition with a range of 8 Premier Cru cuvées that let you discover the other language of champagne. Our favorite is Vocabilis, an extra brut 100% pinot noir.

Located in Muizon, not far from the cellars of Champagne Prestige des Sacres, this third Cave et Terroirs shop offers you a fine selection of wines, champagnes and spirits, with more than 800 references. White, red, rosé, you will find wines from all regions accompanied by the team's advice on how to match them with your dishes, champagnes from the great houses, as well as spirits for the amateurs. On Saturdays, the shop also offers a tasting to discover a wine of the moment specially selected for the occasion.
