The city of Argentan has had a strong fair activity for a long time. In the Middle Ages, there were no fewer than six. But it was in 1919 that the first exhibition of the Quasimodo was held in its current form. A very popular event, it reflects all the commercial activities of the region in addition to one of the largest departmental breeding events where cattle and equine of all races compete in a competition very appreciated by farmers, but also the public. Each year, the fair that takes place on the following weekend Easter, at the Exhibition Hall, welcomes a region or country, with its tourism, folklore, specialities and crafts.

Created in 2022, this international tournament has found its place in the Women's Tennis Association calendar. Classified in the WTA 125 category, it's a springboard for up-and-coming players and a good way for the more experienced to get back on track, as they slip down the world rankings. The field comprises 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams. Although the participants come from all over the world, the French are well represented. It's a chance to see some quality tennis without breaking the bank, and to showcase the women's game.

Autumn is here and with it, the return of the Forgotten Vegetables Festival to La Haye-de-Routot, a small town located on the edge of the Brotonne forest. The day's programme includes workshops for children, gardening, cooking, conferences, exhibitions of carved vegetables, games and a large market. Everything is being done to restore the nobility of forgotten vegetables.

The Rendez-vous à la Cathédrale is simply unmissable, and well worth the detour from the D-Day beaches to here. It happens in summer in Bayeux, it's beautiful, it's free, the cathedral dressed in light reveals itself in all its splendor, and the Tree of Liberty, located just next to it, seems to blaze from within. It's a festival like no other, and a growing success: every year at the end of November, the Égaluantes is the place to be for films connected with the Cotentin region and, more broadly, Normandy. Three cultural venues in Carentan-les-Marais (including the Cotentin theater and cinema) host screenings, meetings (the line-up of guests is always top-notch) and a variety of events where festival-goers can meet the guests. All in all, a convivial family event.

In 1947 was born on the large Lessay moor, a new fair: the thomas fair. Why “new”? Simply because it is the second fair of the city, after the huge annual gathering of September. Despite its 70 years, the venerable "Tripière d'Or" has not aged a day. Quite the contrary, in fact. Who hasn't heard of Caen-style tripe? Every year, this jewel of Normandy gastronomy is the subject of a competition to determine the world's best tripe. Serious business! The recipe is an exact science that may change from year to year, depending on a few tiny ingredients, but Caen-style tripe remains a heritage firmly rooted in its region. For its ^70th edition, it will be held for the ^1st time at the Foire de Caen.

Each year, the Salon des livres organized by the city of Caen provides an opportunity to meet about a hundred authors. Each year, Epoch offers readings, signings, workshops and conferences. The event knows how to bring together all audiences, from fans of detective novels to comic books. The youngest are not forgotten with a space for children. The festival, which claims to want to be one of the fairs that enlighten our time, should once again fulfill its promise this year.

The association La Mancha lives up to its name: it is, literally, the Norman friendship movement for Spanish-American culture. Since 1982, the association has organized the annual Cinemovida festival. It is an event dedicated to Hispanic audiovisual culture. Every year, the association, in coordination with the Odeon cinema, the city, the Regional Council and the association Atout Lire, organizes screenings to introduce Hispanic-American cinema, but also conferences, meetings, exhibitions and concerts.

One of the Cotentin region's major festivals, Sainte-Anne de Bricquebec-en-Cotentin takes place at the end of July. Naturally, the event kicks off with a market in this traditionally agricultural town. It's a market so dense that it takes hours to wander through it, to make sure you don't miss out on any of the encounters, tastings and shopping. Then it's time for the funfair, certainly one of the largest in the Cotentin region, along with the Lessay fair. Concerts and dozens of other events bring the town to life, attracting tens of thousands of people.

In Tourville-sur-Pont-Audemer, the Festival of the apple and the peasant tradition, which gives pride of place to the gestures and machines of yesteryear, celebrated its tenth edition in 2018. Walkers are invited to take a step back in time around an old wine press, a horse-powered apple merry-go-round, old equipment, demonstrations of wheat threshing, and discover ancient crafts that made the peasant life of yesteryear.

The Seine-Marathon 76 is a very popular event and quite popular with runners and families alike. Indeed, five events are offered so that everyone can find something to do: the marathon itself, with its legendary 42.195 kilometres, a distance also offered to company teams; the half-marathon, with 21.097 kilometres of running; the 10 km of Rouen and its urban course; and finally the latest event: the 5 km, intended for young people and beginners, with its nickname "born to move", it is intended to encourage even the most reluctant to exercise.

Every year, on the occasion of Saint-Michel, the Norman festival invites you to come and celebrate Norman culture in the heart of the beautiful Risle valley. Very involved locally, the association La Chouque offers a rich program: music, dances, games, local products, traditional Norman songs... Everything is there! Not to mention, of course, the place where the festivities take place: the priory of Saint-Philbert, a real jewel of Norman heritage. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with the roots, traditions and regional heritages, while enjoying the serenity of this beautiful place.

The Perche Elite Tour is the pole vaulting event. It takes place at the Kindarena, the great hall of sports events of the Metropolis. Each year, it is the occasion to see the best athletes of the world jumping. You will see, over the course of the eight competitions, our national and regional champions. For more than a quarter of a century that this emblematic race of the Rouen conurbation has existed, the number of participants has only increased. And for good reason, it is a beautiful family event that creates a certain emulation among the people of Rouen! For more than 20 years, Equi Seinehas been highlighting the world of horses at the Rouen Exhibition Park. First of all, it is a big competition during which riders compete in several shows. It is also all kinds of educational demonstrations, to discover the world of the horse, and in particular the benefits of horse riding for the most fragile populations. Finally, it is a huge show, where you will find about sixty exhibitors: saddlery, jumping material, vehicles, equipment. A great event for horse lovers.

Thirty years old in 2018, the Sable Show festival has established itself in the Villers-based landscape as much for its longevity as for its demanding but mainstream programming choices. The spectators participate in this programming! Every year, Sable Show offers to vote for their two favorite concerts. The elected representatives are invited back the following year.

The adventure of the Solo Festival "Tout Seul Devant Tout le Monde" begins in 2011. The principle is simple: only one artist on stage! Every year, in the garden of the mill in Blangy-le-Château, the public gathers to share the emotions, anecdotes and first times of the artist who performs with an open heart, but also moments of music and dance, for a weekend of creation and exchanges. One of the main qualities of this festival is undoubtedly the simplicity and family spirit that reign there.

Following the success of the first edition of the Chope ta Mousse Festival in 2019, a second vintage is already in preparation for 2020! This traditional beer festival is a good example of the growth of microbreweries at both the national and local levels. On the programme, two days of meetings to discover the traditional brewing and tastings, in a friendly and festive atmosphere. All to your mugs!

The association Les Normandiques invites you to participate in the eighth edition of La Normandique, a great Nordic walk on the Côte Fleurie, between Deauville and Villers-sur-Mer. In 2022, this event gathered more than 600 participants around the champion and ambassador of the discipline, Arja Jalkanen-Meyer. Do not hesitate to register for a day combining sport, health, good mood and well-being!

The stand-up paddle competition, open to beginners and advanced alike, is fast becoming a not-to-be-missed event in the region. Just look at the growing popularity of this water sport every year. The program includes three events. The first, for the general public, on the Caen Canal. A second, more technical, at Trouville-sur-Mer (village on the beach!). And finally, on the Pont-l'Evêque lake, there are numerous courses and activities for all. It's a great opportunity to discover and practice this unifying sport, and to be the king of sliding!

The Moulin, an area of artistic creation and dissemination created by the town of Louviers, offers all year-round (from September to June), both the technical trays dedicated to associations and companies in residence, a multi-purpose concert hall, where the music, dance and theatre are programmed (in partnership with the national Evreux-Louviers scene), as well as a cellar that is a part of the process. allows more intimate encounters between the public and artists (jazz, and scenes discovered in particular young talents).

Every year, in early October, the Via Aeterna festival takes place in the unique setting of Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay. Dedicated to classical and sacred music, it features some thirty concerts, bringing together 200 renowned artists: musical solos, groups and ensembles, choirs and vocal ensembles. Le Mont Abbey is one of the venues for these concerts, but many of them also take place in other magical places: the Lucerne Abbey or the Christian Dior house in Granville, for example.

It's one of the most important underground electro music festivals in western France! Launched in 2017, Dox'Art is indeed the must-attend event in this field: several stages, renowned artists, numerous events, all in a festive atmosphere full of good vibes.
