LE MARCHÉ DE NOËL
Petit Futé's opinion on LE MARCHÉ DE NOËL

From the last weekend of November to the last weekend of December, Place Saint-Sauveur lives to the rhythm of the Christmas market. Even if we are still far from the famous markets of eastern France, year after year, the Caen market is being enriched with new houses while trying to respect the traditional Christmas spirit as much as possible. However, we deplore these chalets which are too colourful (pink, yellow, blue), not very happy and for the moment, far from the traditional, it is not Easter! For the rest, festive decorations, garlanded trees and generous Santa Claus still contribute to making this event a must in the city. On the shelves: decorations, foie gras, gingerbread, nougat in the cup, Liège waffles, tea, roasted chestnuts and everything else that is handmade: soaps, jewellery, wooden objects... For the children, the merry-go-round and Santa's house have enough to keep them waiting until D-Day. Between traditional songs and mulled wine vapours, we breathe in a great breath of Christmas spirit.
