GROTTA DI SANTA BARBARA
Read moreGrotta di Santa Barbara is a tourist attraction located in Bindua. It is in the province of Carbonia-Iglesias. The cave was accidentally discovered in 1952 during mining operations. Before being opened to the public, it was studied to verify the characteristics of the microclimate inside. Parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, pressure and carbon dioxide levels were measured. This information has enabled a continuous monitoring system to be set up to detect any changes in natural conditions due to the influx of visitors. The cave is currently open to the public by reservation. The Grotta di Santa Barbara is an important natural monument, and monitoring its microclimate enables us to take the necessary measures to preserve it.
