TORRE DI BARI
Small tower accessible to all offering a panorama from the top of the stairs
The beach at Sa Marina di Barisardo is flanked by a small pine forest and a massive granite and basalt defensive tower. The tower was built in the 16th century by the Spanish to defend the village from pirate raids. At the time, the Spaniards were building a string of towers along the Sardinian coast to prevent any attacks. Dedicated to Saint Anthony, it stands some 13 meters high. Directly at the end of the beach, it is accessible to all, and the panorama from the top of the stairs of this small tower is a postcard landscape.
