THE CALETÓN DE GARACHICO
Read moreThis is surely the most pleasant activity when you are in Garachico: swimming in its natural pools. It was the last eruption of the Trevejo volcano, which occurred in 1706 and buried a large part of the village. When it erupted into the sea, it created these natural pools that bear the name of the caletón rock. Except in case of high tide, you can swim there without any problem, as the natural pools are of all sizes, even for the little ones, and finish the day in the restaurants located in the complex.

WHALE AND DOLPHIN WATCHING
Read moreCommunities of humpback dolphins and small pilot whales live off Los Gigantes. While these species were originally migratory, they are now sedentary and can be observed. At a depth of more than 30 metres, the sea bed full of fish is also a delight for divers. To swim, we will finally take advantage of the Arena Beach, a small cove of black sand, pleasantly landscaped with palm trees, a little suffocated by the constructions.

GUIMAR MALAYSIAN MALPAIS
Read moreIt is a volcano that gave birth to this malpaís that now constitutes the coast. It is a characteristic example of the arid coastal ecosystem of the cardónal-tabaibal, with numerous candelabra euphorbias(cardón in Spanish). It can be reached from Puertito, or from the village of Güímar, heading towards the coast along a small road that runs parallel to the motorway exit and under the latter. There is a good view of the volcano and its lava field from the Don Martín viewpoint, 4 km south of the village, on the road to Fasnia.
