THE CALETÓN DE GARACHICO
Last eruption of the Trevejo volcano with natural pools of all sizes ideal for swimming
This is surely the most enjoyable activity when you're in Garachico: bathing in its natural pools. It was the last eruption of the Trevejo volcano, in 1706, that buried a large part of the village and, by opening out into the sea, created these natural pools named after the caletón rock. Except in the case of high tides, bathing here is no problem, as the natural pools come in all sizes, even for the little ones. You can end the day in one of the nearby restaurants.
