From the Spanish archipelago off the West African coast, Tenerife is the largest island, but also the highest since it hosts the Teide, the highest point in Spain, whose peak reaches 3,718 metres. Several million visitors visit the natural park surrounding the volcano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, every year for hiking. It must be said that Tenerife is favoured by half of the travellers - mainly Europeans seeking the mild African climate in the heart of winter - travelling to the archipelago, due to the varied tourist offer there: hiking, surfing, idleness, diving, whale and dolphin watching, fishing, canyoning, climbing, paragliding... Santa-Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the island and capital of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands, together with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is a modern and cosmopolitan city with good restaurants and shopping, known in particular for its carnival. But the Tenerife tour guide will also take you to the four corners of the volcano island, from La Laguna (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and its picturesque villages such as La Orotava, Masca or Garachico, to the Anaga and Teno mountains in the northwest of the island, their laurel forests, steep cliffs and black sand beaches. Whatever the season, it is always a good idea to visit Tenerife

When to go to Tenerife?
When to go to Tenerife? In the Canary Islands, there is no low season as such because the weather is fine all year round and temperatures fluctuate between 20 and 30°C. However, the volcanic island tends to receive more visitors in summer, from May to October: the sun is at its best, the sea winds are cool, and the water temperature does not drop below 20°C. As a result, the beaches are very busy. The best time to travel to Tenerife is, without a doubt, from November to April, because when our landscapes catch cold, those of the Canary Islands still bask in the sun. The event of the year is of course the carnival, even if it only lasts for three years jours ! The Santa Cruz de Tenerife carnival, declared of international tourist interest, is the second largest in the world after that of Rio de Janeiro. The festivities end with the traditional burial of the sardine, a fish that is burned around a good table. This appointment starts each year on a different date, in January, February or March. In the end, when to go to Tenerife? All year round!
