Volcano that must be done on foot, by a path that descends from San Antonio, or by car to Fuencaliente

Unlike the San Antonio volcano, access to the Teneguía volcano is free, but must be done on foot, by a path that descends from San Antonio, or by car. You have to take a small dirt road; don't hesitate to park as close as possible. The Teneguía is a gigantic crater, with black slopes on the outside and red on the inside. In 1971, it was the site of one of the last eruptions in the Canary Islands. A path climbs along the ridge. The earth is less black than the crater of San Antonio; one has the impression of being lost in the middle of a rocky desert. It is a rocky chaos with magnificent colors: red, purple, black, blue, orange, yellow. Around, the earth is folded of bumps, cracked at the top, black and red, and colored of yellow sulfur. To the southwest, two smaller and older volcanoes: Mount Lagi and Mount Abraham. On the other side, at the foot of Teneguía, we notice a tiny crater. In the background, we can distinguish a black and massive volcano, Mount Delmago, and the imposing wall formed by the southern slope of San Antonio. Looking south, you can see the vineyards that cover the entire side of the volcano, all the way to the sea. From the point, hikers can return to Fuencaliente by another trail, passing east of San Antonio, through Delmago. Just before Fuencaliente, you can climb to the top of Tablas (672 m) to have a beautiful view of San Antonio. If we continue after Las Caletas, we will be able to make a stop on the playa Echentive, beach located in the middle of the lava fields.
