You will discover the Great Broken Menhir, struck by lightning in 1947, and the Table of Sacrifices (the one that lies down) whose roughness has fed the popular imagination: it is said that the druids, at full moon, sacrificed young children, smearing the menhir with their dripping blood...

THE FORGES OF PAIMPONT
Read moreIn 1675 the Forges settled in the heart of the forest of Paimpont-Brocéliande. They benefit from a good iron ore and a hydraulic network put in place by the monks from the Middle Ages. In the eighteenth century, Diderot and D 'Alembert hold the refinery to illustrate the Encyclopedia. Production is then 500 tons of Iron and 360 tons of iron. The Forges provide orders related to the war of independence of the United States of America. In the nineteenth century, under Louis XVIII, forges modernized. After their peak in 1850, the blast furnaces stopped in 1866, resumed the activity in the war of 1870 and stopped again in 1880. In the twentieth century, forges buy on the external market of iron and iron at low prices to produce agricultural tools, boilers and other equipment to equip the region. The latter activity stopped in 1954. Since 2001, forges are listed on the Supplementary List of Historic Monuments. A restoration program is undertaken with the assistance of the State, the Regional Council of Brittany, the General Council of Ille-et-Vilaine and the owner.

It is an incredibly impressive obelisk that, standing up, must have been about 18 metres long, just like that! Smart: the Pass des Mégalithes allows you to benefit from advantageous rates to visit five unique sites in Morbihan (the Museum of Prehistory and the alignments of Carnac, the Cairn of Gavrinis, the Cairn of the Petit Mont in Arzon and the site of the megaliths of Locmariaquer).

THE ODET
Read moreIn Breton, Bénodet means "the end of the Odet". It took the name of this river which is one of the most beautiful in the region, and even in France. From its source, one can admire the many castles on its banks, as well as the green forests. Many famous writers have been inspired by these changing and bewitching sceneries: Emile Zola, Madame de Sévigné or Jean de La Fontaine. The Cornouaille bridge, located between Bénodet and Sainte-Marine, offers an unobstructed view of the last few kilometres of the river.
