One of the last neighbourhood cinemas with a human dimension. In these two small cinemas, the cinema offers mainly "mainstream" films: action films, science fiction, romantic comedies, animated films and blockbusters. However, not so long ago, the balance with auteur cinema managed to be maintained. Although well situated, cinema is still a sure bet for a night out at the movies. Clever tip: arrive on time... the entrance to the projection room is at screen level!

Also known as Chez Jean-Paul, the Rondavelle des Filaos is a must for a drink with a nice view of the sea in Saint-Leu, especially at sunset. This unpretentious snack bar near the harbour organises free open-air concerts every weekend which attract a crowd of Réunionese and holidaymakers. The atmosphere is lively and relaxed. On Sundays, street food is in the spotlight; a dozen street vendors set up shop on the promenade opposite the Rondavelle. On the menu: kebab, Thai food, vegan food, burger..

Easily spotted, a huge cactus is at the entrance. ' and Mexican cuisine in this air-conditioned bar-restaurant, small but nice. We come to eat as well as to celebrate, the atmosphere is excellent, one of our favourite bars on the island. Métropole métropole is a safe value, but there is also a Latin card, the largest of the island: burrito, enchiladas, guacamole dips, taco-texan… Meat to plancha is a treat, you don't know if you first recommend the atmosphere of the bar or the quality of the kitchen. And to water all this? Corona, Tequieros, Desperate…. A good address where you can always celebrate. Outdoor smoking terrace.

You may be on holiday in Reunion Island and feel like going to the cinema, especially if the cyclone rains have forced you to cancel your day's hike. Then head to the Duparc shopping area, located near the airport, where a large multiplex with ten spacious and comfortable rooms awaits you. The Ciné Palmes offers both big-budget and auteur films. With a huge car park and a wide range of restaurants, you will have plenty to spend a long time there.

Installed since 2005 on the esplanade in front of the Hermitage supermarket, this open-air bar has become a popular spot in the West. Managed by Fabien and his friendly team, the establishment is first known for its Friday night live concerts, with an eclectic musical program. But whether you come for breakfast under the cool trees, for a tapas aperitif in the evening or for a break in the bustle of the market on Sundays, you'll find the atmosphere of our French troquets and a relaxed atmosphere with local colors.

As the only national drama centre outside France, it is both a theatre production and broadcasting centre, and is also involved in supporting contemporary writing. Under the direction of Luc Rosello, the programming will surprise you. It is an opportunity to discover, in a beautiful setting, the talents of the Indian Ocean, but not only, as the team also invites circus artists, musicians and DJs. Let yourself be carried away!

Open for thirty years, Bowling City is the only bowling alley on the island. In a slightly vintage atmosphere, twelve lanes await you to try out the strike, spend a good time with friends or keep the family busy when the weather's not so good. Details of prices and opening times can be found on the Facebook page; it's best to book in advance, especially for weekends. You'll also find a number of billiards and table soccer tables, a bar, as well as pizzas and snacks.

To burn your last euros, you can join the one and only Dionysian casino, near the Barachois. The slot machines, numbering 150, are freely accessible to adults. For the tables, you need an identity card and pay an entrance fee if you have not dined at Le Baccara restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant and the evenings are varied with karaoke, concerts and shows. During the World Cup football tournament, you can enjoy a broadcast of the matches on the big screen.

New skin for this space, which attracts spectators from the four corners of the island. Les Bambous theatre is a place where you learn to discover not what you like, but what you could like. Hats off to the Clameur des Bambous, thanks to whom many unknown people have made their talent explode. It is also possible to have dinner in the evening during or after the show, by reservation. A varied and daring program, contemporary and rooted in local tradition, with theatre, dance shows, concerts... Ask for the program!

This open-air site hosts the very dynamic stage of the Séchoir. Contemporary music concerts, shows "outside the walls" and shows on Leu Tempo festival... A space that we really love. It can accommodate 500 standing places in "concert" configuration and 270 seats in "tiered" configuration. Its ideal location allows you to start the evening with a good restaurant, then go and listen to your favourite band and finally relax and rest your overheated toes on the sand of the lagoon. And why not a night swim.

Having served in turn as a school canteen, wedding hall and tobacco drying shed, this Piton-Saint-Leu venue now hosts live shows. Le Séchoir, Réunion's "andemik scene", is a multicultural, cross-disciplinary association (which we are particularly fond of) that organizes concerts, film screenings (some of which are open-air), conferences, dance and theater performances, and offers courses. This is also the venue for the not-to-be-missed LEU Tempo Festival d'arts vivants. All in all, a wonderful initiative.

Alain Courbis gives the Espace Leconte in Lisle a new lease of life and offers an attractive program. Cinema, dance, theatre, exhibitions, conferences, concerts... The small hall favours intimate evenings and surprising encounters. We particularly like the promiscuity of the artists (professionals or amateurs) with their public and the historical conferences on Saint-Paul. Together with the Cerise, which is their neighbour, many festivals are organised. You can have a drink there before the start of your evening or during intermissions.

One house for three entities. The tea/coffee room, L'Instanthé, with its wide range of loose teas, infusions and organic coffees (Origines). Also on sale are accessories, home decor and works by local designers. The space, nicely fitted out in a villa with a garden, is shared with Vent de Bohème, whose colorful fans and cushions line the walls, and with Kaz Nature, for healthy, gourmet snacks. A welcoming place with soul and pizzazz, where people come to chat, relax, enjoy a good coffee, grab a bite to eat and indulge themselves.

The Kerveguen is the cultural place of Saint-Pierre. Located on the banks of the Rivière d'Abord, facing the port and next to the TAAF headquarters, this 800-seat hall hosts concerts, shows and cultural events. Guided by the desire to surprise, amaze and, above all, share, it offers a very eclectic program, with all types of music and for all ages. International artists share the bill with the big names of the Indian Ocean and young locals in the making.

A restaurant bar with a nice setting, in two spaces. On one side is the bar, with a swimming pool and a few tables, ideal for a few tapas, especially on Sunday evenings when there is sometimes a DJ. On the other side, high up, a terrace with a sea view, suitable for lunch. The kitchen is simple, but the atmosphere is very nice. La Nouvelle Vague is ideal for snacking or having a snack while having a magnificent view of the Roches Noires beach and the ocean. Stay tuned to the night programming, you will be surprised.

It's the place to be, the place to sing in La Réunion. Kazaoké has five themed, soundproofed rooms that can be privatized (from 4 to 15 people). In the privacy of your own room, you can choose from among the 50,000 song titles available, and let your vocal chords run wild! Kazaoké is also a cocktail bar, in an atypical, well-designed and beautifully appointed venue, with a warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Acoustic concerts are also programmed. The perfect place to spend an evening in Saint-Pierre.

La Voile Blanche is a bit like the obvious choice you'd never think of. This restaurant-bar enjoys an exceptional setting, right in the center of town, beside an elegant swimming pool, that of the hotel La Villa Delisle. You can enjoy the hotel's breakfast (reservation required), or simply enjoy a meal or a drink. Weekend evenings feature cocktails, tapas and music with live concerts or DJs. The place isn't very visible, and you have to enter through the hotel, but go there, because if the setting is sophisticated, the prices are affordable.

The Cité des Arts is a new addition to the island's cultural establishments, and is intended to be multidisciplinary and open to all. It is conceived as a village where it is possible to stop to eat, watch the dancers train or (re) discover the Palaxa in its new setting. Its programming is also very rich and varied. From an architectural point of view, the Atelier Architectes has proposed a building designed like a monolith sculpted by the wind and rain in the image of the ravines of Reunion Island.

Get out! is an escape game accessible to families as well as to game enthusiasts and companies. It is an original alternative if your hike is cancelled due to bad weather. Four different investigations are proposed: "The Secrets of the Panic Room", "The Cunningham Affair", "Quantico" and "The Tesla Workshop". The game takes about an hour. You form your team of two to six players and enter the adventure. At the end, you can leave with a photo souvenir in your favorite outfit.

The Theatre Under the Trees is an open-air theatre playing with the setting as a backdrop. It offers a program full of poetry, comedy and sometimes drama. Didier Ibao took over the artistic direction of the theatre in 2017 for our great pleasure. Before each performance and one hour after, drinks and corks are offered, which will allow you to discuss the creation you have just discovered. You will also discover that it never rains at the Port, as few performances are cancelled due to bad weather.

The Ti Roule rondavelle is known for its free outdoor concerts every Saturday and Sunday evening (well, almost), and occasionally on Friday. The atmosphere is always friendly and the music is connected to the Indian Ocean. Yes, the team organizes only concerts of traditional music: maloya, sega, reggae, soul reggae, seggae... The rondavelle offers food and drinks at very reasonable prices at any time of the day. You will almost forget the sunset.

After two years of construction and a cost of some twenty million euros, the brand-new Ciné Grand Sud opened its doors in Saint-Pierre in April 2023, adding to the cinephile offering in the south of the island. It boasts ten "state-of-the-art" cinemas (including two equipped with Dolby Atmos sound), with a capacity of almost 2,000 people. There's also an area dedicated to arcade games and a food-truck to stock up on bouchons, samoussas, sweets and various drinks.

Within the Moufia University, this room hosts many events throughout the year. Festivals, cinema, dance, etc. A beautiful poster, sometimes free of charge, which honours both student talent, university conferences and debates and professional companies. Original and amateur formations rub shoulders with headliners, all this in a small room that creates a certain intimacy with the artists. On the other hand, the site does not offer a restaurant or bar. You will have to take the car back.

A dynamic cultural establishment, which offers the City of Le Tampon a quality programming throughout the year. Theatre, dance, music, comedy, screenings, conferences, young audiences... the show comes in all its forms for a varied and often enticing line-up. The hall also exhibits creative artists, painters and visual artists. Very dynamic, this film Diffusion association, which is essential to the dionysien cultural landscape, regularly organizes workshops, debates and, above all, projections of documentaries, animation films, author cinema or video art. There are meetings scattered across the city: Leo Dierx Museum, Departmental Library, Téat Champ-Flowered… Not to mention the Château Morange, which hosts every year (since 2010) the Air current documentary Film Festival, in September, as well as the Jeune Young Public Festival, every two years in May. In short, always beautiful programming, to discover on the website of the eda.

Labelled Scène de Musique Actuelle in 2007, the Kabardock has become an unmissable cultural venue. By succeeding in the gamble of a daring programming in a burgeoning city but often wrongly ignored by night owls and tourists, this structure also welcomes choreographers and dance companies. Finally, the variety of rooms (café/cabaret, auditorium and concert hall) allows you to discover the artists in unusual atmospheres. All the rooms of the Kabardock are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

For years, a real institution for LGBT people. From 21 a. m. to 0 p. m.: music bar and happy-hour. From 0 a. m. to dawn: disco. Karaoke evenings. In week, the club can be booked for private evenings.

Les Dalons is a team of three youngsters, Thibaut, Joris and Jonathan, brought together by the desire to make a craft beer. Using the Bel-Air lighthouse as their logo, they chose to establish themselves in the northern region. From blond to white and seasonal beers, you'll find plenty to please you. You'll find beer all around the island and even in the cirques. In 2022, the Dalons opened a new tasting space combining beer and culture right in the heart of Saint-Denis. The program includes games evenings, concerts..

Doudoune Café is a coffee-shop installed in a box (old rehabilitated container) with a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean and the comings and goings of the cargo ships. Here you can relax with a hard walk while enjoying a pancake or a waffle with a shake or a cappuccino crème brûlée. The prices are very affordable, so much so that you'll be back for more. The place inspires relaxation and rest. The owner welcomes you with a warm smile and does everything to make you feel good.

Ideally located on the Place des Roches Noires, Le Kazbar is a must for an evening with friends in Saint-Gilles. More than just a tapas bar, the establishment is famous for its wide variety of mojitos and cocktails, a must for all fans! The first to arrive will be able to settle down on the footstools and cushions of the lounge terrace, which are very popular at sunset. Musical evenings are organised every Thursday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and also evenings with a DJ or pianist on Fridays. Stay tuned to its programming or let yourself be surprised!

Passionate about role-playing games, Clément has designed and created a recreational area where you can have fun while working your brain. Two distinct universes in two rooms, each with a well-defined theme. In the first one, the space station for three to six players, where you have one hour to find and then solve the puzzles, and thus save your skin. In the second one, the living package for two players, the only one on the island, where you have 70 minutes and not one more to find the help you need to escape. Your goal in both cases? To have fun.
