A pretty setting and a lovely evening guaranteed at Hibisca, set in a traditional house where we recommend the heavy tables scattered under the veranda. The plates are filled with tasty dishes, a fusion of the chef's American-European inspirations, not forgetting a little Asian detour: fresh pasta, Brazilian-style pork, fajitas and the memorable Creole Voodoo Cake. Daily specials are always original and creative, and always include the catch of the day. Side dishes are seasoned with a master's touch.

There's no better way to discover local specialties than at Nerie's, in an authentic setting and with a menu that guarantees low prices. Many specialties are to be recommended: stewed, curried, fresh fruit juices, fajitas, delicious seafood soups accompanied by coconut rice, chicken and pork dishes, not to mention the tempting offer of grilled meats. For dessert, sweet potato cake and various puddings. Once you've tried it, it's hard to resist!

If you like sushi and Japanese dishes, you won't be disappointed at Taka. The rolls are excellent, made to order with extra-fresh fish. Udon noodles are also featured here, prepared just like in Japan! A special mention goes to the fried wontons which, although not from Japan, will delight Asian food lovers. To round off the meal, you'll be surprised to discover sesame or beet ice creams, a real final delight. If you're staying at the nearby Radisson, you've found your canteen!

Lovers of quality Lebanese cuisine won't want to miss Chef Roger's tiny restaurant, known as the White Wolf to Lebanese Belizeans, who come here whenever they feel homesick. Rarely tasted tabbouleh, delicious lamb and tasty kebabs will delight your palate. You have to know your way around to get here, and at first you may think you've come to the wrong address, but the smoke from the wood fire over which the pitas are made is unmistakable!

We come to Martha's Café for its old-fashioned atmosphere, its tasteful decor, its view of Belize City Bay and, above all, for its refined vegetarian cuisine with an oriental flavour. Boasting high ceilings, polished parquet flooring, huge picture windows and a panoramic veranda with breathtaking views of Haulover Creek and the Caribbean Sea. Enjoy plant-based garden meals, fresh dairy-free smoothies, organic wines and gourmet desserts. Healthy eating has never tasted so good!

Located in the center of the village of Placencia, Wendy's is now a classic, a little more formal than the average village restaurant. The restaurant has both a large air-conditioned indoor dining room and a lovely shaded terrace. The menu features simple Creole-inspired dishes, such as fish or lobster in sauce or grilled, rice and beans, as well as more American fare like burgers and salads. Try the cocktails!

One of the area's colorful haunts, this "barefoot bar" serves up live music every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ideal for those who want to spend a little time in a very tropical beach restaurant, and meet new people in a friendly atmosphere. The extensive menu features mainly Central American specialties: nachos, burritos, salbutes, tostadas, tacos, enchiladas , salads, wraps, burgers and pizzas.

This little house near the entrance to Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat before heading out into the forest, or to stop for a well-deserved drink after your excursion. Owner Moonie and her team prepare delicious bocas (tacos, quesadillas, burritos), barbecues and refreshing cocktails. You can also buy local wines, spices and vegetables if you only have time for a quick stop. When shrimps are in season, don't hesitate: they're excellent and inexpensive.

Mexican specialities at the Waluco's rendez-vous, fried fish, plaster, burgers and salads, are therefore for all tastes. The plates are full of colours and tastes. The service is very nice and lively evenings are organized around culinary themes (with a bit of luck, evening of pork in barbecue… yum), but also music and dancing. A nice cocktail card with everything! What more?

It's a large, windowless room behind a smaller one that opens onto the street and serves as a counter for locals who come here for a drink. The food here is hearty and made-to-order on the spot, and the place has the indescribable advantage of being open on Sundays. The never-ending menu includes the famous chow mein (fried noodle dishes), curry, fried rice, chop sue and egg foo, available in vegetarian or carnivorous versions. Combos are available if there are two of you, or if you only want one meal a day...

Visitors flock to the few tables in this small, almost informal restaurant, attracted by the hearty, inexpensive home cooking. Here you'll find the usual egg dishes for breakfast, with fresh fruit juice for the fussiest of stomachs. The dinner menu is very attractive: fried conch with pineapple sauce, lobster claws, grilled snapper fillet, chicken or pork chops. Since 2022, Dawn's grill has been temporarily relocated to the premises of sister restaurant The Galley.

The view of Guatemala and Honduras from the terrace is magnificent. Guests come here to enjoy family-style dishes of Caribbean, Indian and local inspiration, with an abundance of vegetables, fish and meat. The menu changes daily and portions are generous. If you're lucky, you'll go to the Bayside Buffet on a day when duck is on the menu... the duck curry ragout is highly original and devilishly tasty. This is an excellent PG address, not to be missed. A must-see! From early morning onwards, this very local cafeteria welcomes all the city's visitors with their simple yet assertive tastes. Breakfast dishes are served here at all hours: fried, poached and scrambled eggs, accompanied by bacon or sausage; omelettes of all kinds (don't miss the one with chaya, a prized herb from the Mayan region), Mexican preparations(rancheros), toast, bowls of fruit, pancakes and more. If you're hungry for lunch, fajitas, nachos, burritos and other club sandwiches are on offer. Bon appétit.

Head to the west side of the island and enter this magnificent garden to enjoy a constant but ever-changing selection of typical Italian dishes, including pasta and the island's best pizzas. Accompanied by a selection of Italian wines. The service is fast and the staff attentive. To end on a sweet note, don't miss the excellent desserts, including a Tiramisu that lives up to its origins. Don't forget the coffee - it's ristretissimo! On certain mornings, the restaurant also serves hearty breakfasts.

A beautiful, cosy and charming seaside restaurant. Comfortably seated in an armchair on the terrace or in the garden, you'll be able to enjoy decent international cuisine: salads, wood-fired pizzas, burgers and some more elaborate dishes based on grilled meats, fish(ceviche) or shrimps. We particularly appreciate the proximity of the sea and the garden equipped with games for younger guests, which gives the place a vacation feel. Ideal for a moment of relaxation before setting off for Sarteneja, for example.

Even if the building doesn't look like much, Patty's Bistro is THE perfect spot (with air conditioning!) to sample the country's traditional cuisine. The shellfish soup offers a unique touch of coconut, as does the shrimp curry starter. There are also chicken and fajita dishes, as well as tasty little burgers. Service is fast, and the place is very busy with Corozal locals, making you feel like a real local. Please note: no alcoholic beverages except beer. Definitely worth a visit.

A small, solid-wood shack that serves delicious, well-presented dishes on its open-air terrace. This is Corozal's finest Chinese cuisine: spicy ravioli and fresh seafood. The Singapore noodles with shrimp are particularly tasty. The view over the bay is breathtaking, and the atmosphere and service are excellent. A place not to be missed if you're staying a few days in Corozal and want to change your diet.

June opened this breakfast restaurant in her own house and on her porch about 20 years ago, and it quickly became famous for the personalized welcome you get here, in addition to her large breakfasts (fruit!) and hearty lunch. Every day, we find the famous rice and beans (beef or pork) served with a potato salad and plantain banana. Fish fillets, chicken curry and various soups and other delicacies of family cuisine follow one another during the days of the week.

A charming beach chalet, clean as a whistle, with a terrace serving cuisine that's far more sophisticated than the village average, yet without superfluous pretension. From breakfast onwards, you'll find meticulously presented dishes, where color associations are merely the prelude to those of flavor(burritos, fry jack, omelette, fresh fruit juice). For late risers, the menu kicks off with soups, salads and fish tacos, before turning to the catch of the day or delicious curries (land or sea).

The place to go for a taste of authentic Garifuna cuisine: hudut (fish and plantain, coconut curry), escavoch fish,stew, shellfish soup or shrimp dishes. Visit on Fridays and Sundays for percussion jam sessions, as the place also functions as a center for Garifuna culture. The place is spacious and the wooden tables nicely arranged in a courtyard swept by the sea breeze, making it an ideal refuge at any hour, from breakfast to dinner. An absolute must.
