The most beautiful natural sites to discover Canada

As in London, it's the largest park in the city. The buses and the subway train the amateurs of walks and sportsmen of all kinds. Every summer there is a Shakespeare festival.

Located between Burlington and Oakville, this park will allow you to relax and linger over time. Witness demonstrations in the Spruce Lane farm house of the 1890 s. Bring your children into a miniature farm and flatter animals. Take camping, swim in an outdoor swimming pool (one of the largest in the country), stroll through the natural trails or take a bicycle ride. Wear trousers for salmon and trout fishing in the creek. In winter, you can skate outside (on-site skates hire), slide on slopes and cross-country skiing.

Sailboats, catamarans, pedal boats, boats, kayaks and canoes are some of the possible nautical activities in Cap-Rouge Bay. Sailing and sea kayaking courses are also available.

Located on the west coast of the Burin Peninsula, this pleasant 51-hectare park borders the Frenchman's Cove barachois with two beautiful beaches to enjoy swimming... In addition to outdoor activities (biking, hiking, snowshoeing, etc.), the area is also very popular with birdwatchers. Dozens and dozens of campsites are also available for rent. Grande Meadows Golf Course is adjacent.

Along the Brudenell River, this provincial park, located halfway between Cardigan and the small port of Georgetown, has a great location on the river. Features include a beach, swimming pool, watercraft rentals and horseback riding (check with campground), two superb 18-hole championship golf courses, a children's playground, walking trails, campsites and more.

Superb zoo where 70 specimens from the region and others from a little further away live, such as Grizzly bears, bears, cougars... The purpose of this museum and interpretation centre is to educate and sensitize the population and tourists to the region's wildlife, to understand their habitats and to preserve these species by respecting them. Some zoo species are declared endangered, such as the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, but also grizzly bears, which have been heavily impacted by human activities. It is possible to visit the zoo by train.

Located 17 km northeast of Smithers, the park is rich in fossils. The most beautiful specimens are presented at the Bulkley Valley Museum (Yellowhead and Main Street in Smithers Tel (250) 847 5322).

Third largest river in North America in terms of flow. Stretching from British Columbia to the state of Oregon, the Columbia River Treaty was signed in 1964 between the Canadian and American governments to build dams to limit flooding. Among all the dams that control the Columbia River, one of the most powerful, located 8 km north of Revelstoke, can be visited. 175 m high and 470 m long, or how to feel tiny! Guided tours are available to learn more about the dam.
